When he said above, "You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings" (these are offered according to the law), then he added, "See, I have come to do your will." He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. And it is by God's will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.. Pray for Michael Curry, our Presiding Bishop, as he recovers from his surgery, for Alan Gates and Gayle Harris, our Bishops, and for Debbie our Priest. May we each prepare our hearts for the coming of our Savior, not as a baby in a manger, but in glorious majesty, to bring in the kingdom of God. We pray for God s holy, Catholic Church, that we all may be one. I bid your prayers for the good use of our gifts. Pray for the discernment of our passions and ways to offer them to the Glory of God. We give thanks for the Celtic Evensong Worship Team. May we use our resources for God s will alone, forsaking our own willful desires. Give us grace in all that we undertake, that our works may find favor in God s sight. Awaken our hearts to God s presence in all people; in those we love easily and those with whom we struggle. May we be your loving presence to those whom we serve. We pray especially for the fifth graders at the Nathaniel Bowditch School, their families and school personnel. Grant that we may truly and humbly serve our God, that Christ s Name may be glorified by all people.

5 Because Jesus particularly loves them, let us remember in his name the poor and helpless, and those in any need or trouble, especially those on our parish prayer list, and those whom we name either silently or aloud. Have compassion on those who suffer from any grief or trouble, that they may be delivered from their distress. We pray for the departed, especially those on our minds this this season. 7 Tonight: The Longest Night Christmastide is a joyous time for many, but not for all. During the 5:00 pm Celtic Service, we will hear words of comfort and music of peace as we enter into the longest night of the year. Bowditch Event: On Wednesday, December 23 from 1:45 to 2:30, we will join the fifth graders at the Bowditch School to decorate Christmas cookies to be shared. There is a signup for the variety of ways you can participate either by shopping, making cookies on December 20th before and after church or by joining Debbie and others at the school on the 23rd. We are hoping for 100% participation. What works best for you? 7
