1 June 28, th Sunday in Ordinary Time As we gather today at God s invitation, we encounter two subjects in the readings God s dominion over illness and death, and the power of faith. We know that as human beings it is inevitable that we will personally encounter both illness and death. Our reassurance today is that God is with us at those times. Let us pray today for strong faith in God so that we will be able to meet those challenges when they come. The Most Blessed Sacrament is reserved in this Church. 2 Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Virgin Home Visitation Program Legion of Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit Praesidium launched a new program within our parish, Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Virgin Home Visitation Program. The statue was blessed on May 13, 2015 and on May 16th begin her travels being welcomed into the homes of those who invite our Lady to visit their homes. Upon request, Legion of Mary members will arrange a one week visit to your home with Our Lady of Fatima where the individual or family will "welcome" Our Lady and spend time with Her during the week. At the end of the week there will be a "farewell" to Our Lady. The week long visit begins and ends on Saturday. If you are interested in the Our Lady of Fatima Home Visitation Program, please contact Julia Brown Fr. Joseph Kutch, currently serving at Saint Matthew s Parish in East Stroudsburg has been assigned to Epiphany Parish. Father Kutch will report on Monday, June 29th. Father Kutch will bear the title of Senior Priest and not Assistant Pastor. This is because of his tenure of 20+ years of service in the Diocese of Scranton. Despite the difference in title, Father Kutch will assist Father Andrew in all aspects of parish life. We are grateful to Bishop Bambera for making this appointment knowing full well the current priest shortage through-out the Diocese of Scranton. Peter s Pence In the second collection today, we are supporting Pope Francis in his charitable works. The Peter s Pence Collection is taken up worldwide to support the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters. This is an opportunity to join with our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and be a witness of charity to our suffering brothers and sisters. Please be generous in today s collection. Helping Hands of Bentley Creek needs our help. The first Sunday of each month will be a special day to bring non-perishable food to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church to donate to the Helping Hands of Bentley Creek food bank. Come Pray with Us Starting May 29, every Friday at 7:00 pm (weather permitting) we will be saying a rosary in the Epiphany prayer garden next to the convent. We will be praying for the school to grow and flourish and for the well-being of all those who are a part of our school community. This is an informal gathering. No need to sign up, make a commitment or do anything special. Just come if you re free! Stop by on the way to your Friday night plans, swing in as you go past on your evening run/walk, or cap off a nice family dinner with some family prayer. All are welcome!
