Congratulations to our 2011 Education for Ministry (EfM) Graduates! The ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church. (The Book of Common Prayer, p. 855) EfM Education for Ministry is the Episcopal Church s premier program for adult Christian formation for lay people. Gail Coleman and Betsy Murray have completed this four year program of theological education by extension provided by the University of the South, Sewanee. Participants meet weekly in small seminar groups led by a trained mentor. Through study, prayer, discussion, and reflection, they acquire a firm grounding in Biblical studies, church history, and theology, giving them the tools and confidence to discover and carry out their ministries in the world. For more information contact Steve Lusk at malusk03@verizon.net.
