Worship Service Location Change Sunday, June 26, :00am 10:30am Location Change on June 26 (just for this Sunday): All Saints Anglican Church will hold service on June 26, 2016, at the Cypress, (see address below). For all other Sundays, we are back in our regular space at Charlotte Catholic High School, 9:30 a.m. There we will be Valet service and/or people can park themselves in the lower parking lot in front of the clubhouse or use Valet service. There is a security guard gate. Someone will be at the gate to point out where the Club House is and available parking. No charge for valet service and no tipping! Address 3442 Cypress Club Drive. 2 ASAC Prayer Ministry Healing Prayer Service DATE: Saturday, June 11, 2016 TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon LOCATION: Chapel at the Church office, 1312 Matthews-Mint Road, Matthews, NC WHAT: You are invited to come, lift up your voice in praise and worship of the Lord. Spend time with the Lord and receive healing prayer ministry. This service will begin with Holy Eucharist, then a time of testimony followed by a time of prayer for healing and deliverance. Music will be provided to bring us into a place of praise and worship. Bring your family, bring a friend!!! WHAT TO BRING: A sweater (if you need warmth) and an expectant heart. 3 Dear saints, Every few days I go by the Hemby Road property and check out the progress of our construction. I always get excited and praise God for what is being done. I hope you are encouraged too. Folks want to know if and when we are going to have two services. The short answer is that we are not ready yet. While we are seeing an encouraging level of growth at the present, we simply do not have the numbers that would drive that decision. I believe we will experience more robust growth once we move in because we will be able to offer more and better ministry opportunities. In the meantime, we need to be ready for what we believe the Lord has in store for us. If we envision growth and eventually see ourselves going to two services, we would need more folks trained to do the various things Anglicans do in worship- Chalice Bearers, Lectors, Acolytes, etc. So let s be ahead of the curve instead of behind it. This summer we will use the time right after Sunday church services to offer some short training sessions. Those who are willing and able can then be equipped to join one of our worship teams. Here s what we have planned so far: - July 24 at 11:30am- Chalice Bearer training. These are the folks who assist the clergy in the administration of Holy Communion. To serve on this team you must be a confirmed member at least 18 years old. - July 31 at 11:30am- Lector training. These are the folks who read the Old Testament lesson, introduce the psalm, read the New Testament lesson and lead the Prayers of the People. If you have a love for God s Word, a heart for prayer and a worshipful ability to lead a vital portion of the liturgy, you are warmly invited. - August 28 at 11:30am- Acolyte training. Acolytes are the ones who assist the clergy at the altar. Crucifers carry the cross in procession and held the clergy prepare the Table before Communion. We look for someone at least 13 years old (including adults!) to do this ministry since it involves a bit of upper body strength and the ability to gracefully handle the table prep. Torch bearers carry the processional candles and may be as young as 9 years of age. This ministry is a great way for parents to help their children connect with the worship and learn reverence, service and responsibility. Most folks on these teams serve once a month- sometimes more (vacation season, Holy Week, etc.). If you are feeling called to serve the Lord in one of these ways you can get connected several ways. You can contact Bill Bryan (Vestry Liaison for Worship Ministries) for any of the above, Bev Langford for Chalice Bearer training, Ned Harris for Lector training, or Liz Lowry for Acolyte training. Or you can call our faithful and efficient Judy Rowe here at the office and she will hook you up! And--- please do feel free to inquire about or join any other servant group- the Altar Guild, Ushers, Greeters, Choir, Worship Team, etc. If you want to be learn about any of these groups let Bill, Judy or me know. It is time for all the All Saints saints to step up! I see a bright future for our family. Please pray and ask the Lord if one of these ministries might be a way you can be a part of it.
