I suggest you take time to review the services, even if you can t attend. Be sure to remain in church for the Divine Liturgy following the Paschal Vigil, so that we can partake of Holy Communion together as the Body of Christ on this radiant celebration of the Resurrection! 3 An Invitation to the Hellenic Tour USA book signing Thursday, 27, 2017 at 7:00 pm Holy Trinity s Small Hall ~ Free Admission The Daughters of Penelope, Troy Chapter #32, will host a book signing for author Cleo Rumpakis on her new book Hellenic Tour USA. She will be introducing stories that interlink with other states followed by questions from the audience. With many years of research the author s journey begins in 1528 of the Greek presence in America. She has provided a plethora of Greek-American Heritage sites located in all 50 states. Monuments, works of art, history briefs, museums, noted personalities, early or unique Greek Orthodox Churches, Sister- Cities and more are highlighted. The 392 page paperback historical guide book will be available for sale at $ New York s Greek American newspaper, The National Herald, listed the Hellenic Tour USA book as one of the top seven requested books that attracted the most attention from their readers in The book is one of a kind! Please join us for an enjoyable evening with some wine and cheese. Everyone is invited to attend "Agia Sophia Academy is something Orthodox Christians in other cities can only dream of having. It's a family atmosphere of sincere love, support, fun and learning. All of our boys were blessed to spend some of their formative years at ASA. If you want to see how special ASA is, attend one of the school Liturgies and listen to those sweet voices chant. Heaven on earth!" ~ Jennifer Davis Q: What does Agia Sophia Academy offer? A: We offer a Montessori Primary Program for 3-6 year olds (includes Kindergarten), a Lower Elementary Program for Kindergarten 2nd grade, and an Upper Elementary for 3rd 5th grade. Additionally, our specialty classes include Music, P.E., Art, Latin (starting in 2nd grade), and Greek. Q: What does an Orthodox education cost at ASA? A: $4700 to $6500 depending on the program. Financial Aid is available! If cost is holding you back, please contact the school to find out more about our need-based tuition assistance. About 25% of our students receive some form of financial aid. Agia Sophia Academy is not a line item on any parish budget. However, we are graciously hosted by St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. While we contribute towards utilities and maintenance costs, the parish s offer of a rent-free space helps us maintain a moderate tuition, so that it is affordable for families. Our funding comes from tuition, gifts from friends of ASA, foundations and grants. Our goal is that everyone who is interested, especially our Orthodox brothers and sisters, may be able to send their children to ASA. Q: How do I get more information, schedule a tour, or apply? A: Visit our website at We have a rolling application deadline until space is filled. You can also stop by the school weekdays, Euphrosyne McKenzie at info@asapdx.org, or give us a call at (503) Another option is to reach out to a St. John s representative of ASA: Christina Blankenstein, Rachel Daniels, or John Davis HACCM presents its first traveling exhibit in.
