Fall Bus Trip Our Lady of Guadalupe is planning a fall bus trip to The Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in LaCrosse, WI. on Saturday, October 9. Doors open at 5:30 with games starting at 6:30. Tickets are $15.00 per person for 14 games, $5.00 per person for the last game & extra cards may be purchased for $5.00. Healing Mass Schedule~ The next Healing Mass at Sacred Heart Church, th Ave. Rock Island will be April 5 at 7:00 pm. Easter Egg Hunt After the 9:00 Mass on Easter Sunday, there will be a Easter Egg Hunt at Our Lady of Guadalupe. There will be a box in the back of church for the next couple of weeks for any unwanted eggs to be returned. We will reuse them next year! Thank You! Guadalupe Mother/Daughter Breakfast The Mother/Daughter Breakfast committee needs your help to find vintage aprons. The kind grandma use to wear, cobbler, cake cutting aprons etc. If you have one that could be used please contact Lucy Our Lady of Guadalupe Heart to Heart Project The Heart to Heart Project will end with a collection of school supplies for Jamaica at the church doors at Our Lady of Guadalupe after all Masses next weekend. Saint Film Fest The Saint Film Fest for April 7th will feature "The Reluctant Saint" about St. Joseph Cupertino, a humble Franciscan friar, who literally rose to sainthood. The film is in black and white and stars Maximilian Schell. Running time is 104 min. The film will be shown at 8:15 in the Conference Room of the Early Learning Center at Our Lady of Grace. Come share some coffee and let your spirits soar! Help! Our Lady of Grace is preparing for the Junior High Musical, "Guys and Dolls". We are in need of felt men's hats circa late '40's or early '50"s. You know the snap brim that gents tipped to ladies! If you have any of these hiding in closets or cedar chests and no longer need them, we would appreciate your donation. Please drop them at the school office or in the server's vesting room off the vestibule in church and then set aside April 30th or May 1st to come and see the production! Thanks for your help! The Costume Committee Thank You! A sincere thank you to Father Walder, Deacon Matt Levy, Deacon Jim, Jim Nelson and the Blessed Father Pro Group from Our Lady Of Guadalupe, the members of the Worship and Prayer committee and all of you who attended our Seder Meal. 3 Mother/Daughter Breakfast All women of our parish are invited to attend the Mother/Daughter Breakfast on Sunday, April 18th following the 10:30 Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our menu will consist of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon & sausage, fruit cup and sweet breads. The cost is $6.00 per person. Children 11 and under $2.00. Reservations and remittance are due by Wednesday, April 16 th. Make checks payable to: Our Lady s Women s Group. Return to church office or collection basket in envelope marked Mother/Daughter breakfast. Please include your name, guest name and children attending if applicable. At Mass we will sit together as a group on the FRONT right hand side of the church. We are looking for women to volunteer to bring up the gifts, do readings and women who are Eucharistic ministers to help with communion. Please contact Lucy at if you are able to help! Help Wanted! We are asking for volunteers to again embroider the baptismal clothes for new babies being baptized. We provide the material with the design on it and the embroidery floss if needed. You may also do your own design if you want. I need to know how many you want to do, if you need the embroidery floss and if you want to put the back on it or not. If not I can do this when you finish the embroidery on the front. I will leave the supplies in the vesting room with your name on the bag. Please return it there when you finish your project. Legion of Mary The Legion of Mary will meet on Mondays at 9:15 am in the Parish Hall meeting room at Our Lady of Guadalupe. All are welcome! Blessed Fr. Pro Men s Club Meeting The Blessed Fr. Pro Men s Club from Our Lady of Guadalupe has moved our meeting time and date to the First Monday of the Month at 6:30 pm please make a note of this and come join us! Our next meeting will be Monday April 5th at 6:30 pm. CCD Registration for 2010/2011 Parents may register for CCD for the Fall the entire month of April. Register when you bring your student to CCD. Registration will be held before, during and after all CCD classes at the Parish Hall at Our Lady of Guadalupe to make it convenient for all. April is the ONLY opportunity to register. Class space is very limited and there will be no Kindergarten class due to lack of classroom space. Families currently enrolled must register again for the fall. Please note: you MUST be a registered member of St. Anne or Our Lady of Guadalupe to register for CCD. Classes will be held only on Sunday this fall. Peoria Catholic Men s March Charter Bus~May 1, 2010 To all men of the Quad City area, on Saturday, May 1, Our Lady of Guadalupe parish Men s Group will sponsor a charter bus to Peoria for the annual Catholic Men s march. Bus tickets are on sale now for $18.00 per person at the church office with payment due at the time of your order. To purchase tickets call Jackie at Our Lady of Guadalupe, The bus will depart from the church parking lot at 7:00 am and return by approximately 3:30 pm. Call now to order your tickets. Discipleship Challenge CCD teachers, aides, prayer partners, pencil sharpeners, and all manner of disciples- you are invited to pursue your calling with All God's Children Religious Education Program. Openings exist at a number of age levels. Please contact All God's Children at ext. 5 or St. Anne Religious Education Office at There will be a training session in teaching methods, discipline, and lesson planning held April 22 at St. Anne's Cleary Hall. Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities The Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities is in need of packages of diapers to put in the layettes they give to women who have given birth and are in need of clothes for their children. Layettes are given to Trinity Hospital patients and clients of the Women s Choice Center. We need diapers in size 1 and 2, to make a contribution contact Pam Swim, or Mindy Olson Save the date!~ St. Anne Parish Cinco de Mayo will be on Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 5-10 pm. St. Anne Garden Club Everyone is invited to the Spring meeting of the St. Anne Garden Club which will be held at Freida's restaurant, th Avenue, East Moline on April 8, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. We will be discussing our special projects for this coming year, the 3rd annual plant sale and our weekly work schedule. You don't need a green thumb in this garden club, just the desire to be of service to our wonderful church.

4 Yard/Plant Sale On May 14 th & 15 th the Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities will be sponsoring a yard and plant sale. If you have any gently used clothing, housewares, furniture, toys, etc. that you would like to contribute for the sale call Mindy Olson We would like to receive all donations by May 8 th. We will also be selling plants so if you have some plants that you want to divide or give us for the sale we would be happy to accept them. Ham Dinner St. Maria Goretti Parish Ham Dinner on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 11 am - 2 pm at St. Maria Goretti Parish Hall 220 E. 22nd Avenue, Coal Valley. The cost: $8.00 adults, $3.00 children (4-12) $25 maximum per family Everyone is welcome! Quad Cities Catholic Men s Group Men of the Parish are invited to join the Quad Cities Catholic Men's Group on Saturday, April 17th. We'll meet for 7:00 a.m. Mass at St. Pius in Rock Island followed by breakfast & discussion from 7:30-9:00 a.m. We'll continue our study of Fr. Larry Richards' book, Be a Man! (Chapter 4) Fr. Richards is a pastor of an inner city parish in Erie, PA and hosts a daily radio show on Relevant Radio. Copies of the book are available in the Sacristy at St. Pius. Pancake Breakfast Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church th St. Orion will hold it s 8th annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 11. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Women s Choice Center in Bettendorf, IA. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 am until 1:00 pm. Donations will be gladly accepted at the door and there will be raffles held during the event. Salad Luncheon St. Mary s Church in Rock Island will hold its Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, April 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schroeder Hall, 22nd St. & 5th Ave. Donation is $6.50, no tickets are sold at the door.
