She just turned two and used to be one of several foster kids they have taken into their home. They have four boys of their own and have taken care of many foster kids over the years with nine total kids in the house being their peak. My family has enjoyed meeting these kids at our family get-togethers. Foster kids have some very sad stories, but people like Brian and Jennifer are among the group of parents that are willing to help those in need. Being foster parents is certainly a challenging ministry, but it also very rewarding. Let us appreciate and pray for those families that are willing to expand their families to take care of those in need. It is reflective of Jesus saying, Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matt 19:14). Thanks, and God Bless!!! Fr. Chris

3 3 PARISH DIRECTORY NEWS: ATTENTION PARISHIONERS: If you are involved in a ministry at St. Joseph, please plan on being photographed after the 10:30 a.m. Mass TODAY, AUGUST 26th, in the Church! We want to be sure to include our various ministry members in our new directory so we hope to see you there! There will be a meeting of those who wish to volunteer to help with the Photo Directory as a hostess at Linda Marsano s home, 7894 Oldfield Rd (end of Henry St.) on Thursday, August 30th at 7 pm. All hostesses will receive a $25 off coupon on any photography purchases. A Hostess will greet those coming for their photography session and help with handing out the appointment info cards. Let s make this a fun event! CRESTLINE MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION S FREE COMMUNITY MEAL: Thursday, August 30, United Methodist Church 5:30-6:30 p.m. Picnic at the pavilion, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, it will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church. All are welcome! A free will offering will be taken up. DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN HOW AND WHY WE, AS CATHOLIC CHRISTIANS, CELEBRATE OUR FAITH THE WAY WE DO? Do you have a friend, co-worker or spouse who is not Catholic but attends Mass with you regularly and might be interested in learning more if they were only invited? The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is how you can invite family or friends who have expressed an interest and do not know where to start. Our next group of inquirers, those who have expressed interest or are just curious, will being sessions in September. Deadline for applications is September 9th. Thank you! Catholic Women s Club: The next luncheon will be Wednesday, September 12, Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish in Lexington. Luncheon will be in that Parish hall at 12:30 p.m. All members of the St. Juan Diego Deanery are invited. If you are new, we encourage you to join us and get to know the Catholic women in the area. Please call Kathy Wukela at or Joan Schonhardt at Reservations must be made by September 7, 2018 before 12 noon. Looking forward to meeting new members! All are kindly invited to spend time in prayer before our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament imploring him to heal all abuse victims, to reform the hierarchy and clergy, and to cleanse the Church of all evil. The Most Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on Friday, September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross at St. Joseph, beginning at approximately 9:15 a.m. (after the 8:30 a.m. Mass) and concluding with Benediction at 9:00 p.m. There are sign-up sheets in the main entrances at both parishes. Fr. Chris would like to have two parishioners for each hour.
