1 February 2019 Volume 1, Issue 6 Daughters of the King President s Page Inside this issue: Presidential Address 1 Registration/Hotel What to wear Keynote, Guest Artist Facilitators Class Titles 2 3 Musical Tribute 4 Upcoming Events 6 Web Address/PO 6 Dear Ladies of this Great District! Happy Month of March!! Be grateful and fortunate in this day as some have not been blessed to see March Be encouraged because I have been told that the Lord does not call you home if He still has work for you to do. Be encouraged because the Master still has work for your hands to do. Of course it is our choice; if we shall be wise or not, lean not toward our own understanding, be faithful and choose to be successful at our given tasks. Only we can determine that. Now be clear, just because He has chosen us and the assignment He has given us does not mean that there will not be absent of stumbling blocks, distractions, and haters along the path. But Ladies, Daughters we already know this is just a part of life s journey. What won t destroy you will make you strong! Thus, tip your hat like a lady, bow your head in prayer and remember that no weapon formed again you will proposer. Lucifer is dedicated to his cause and bringing as many with him as he can. He understands his future. He planned it. His only reward is to have company. But it will NOT be us. Not the daughters of the King. We have a much brighter future. We must tap into our resources of strength and wisdom. The wisdom is we know the Lord our Savior. He will never leave us. He is with us until the end of time; remember the Great Commission. He loves us so much that suffered, bled and died for us. So never leave His presence for anything. Just rest and be assured of His goodness towards us. Put on that whole amour of God, the breast plate of righteous and the shield of faith. You see the devil know your strength even if we fail to realize our own strength. Use your power Daughters of the King. Preserver in His love, do His works, praise His name, proclaim His glory and claim your inheritance knowing that no weapon formed will prosper formed against you. Ladies we are so excited in planning this retreat for you. But this not the Consolidated Baptist District Women s Auxiliary program. Its always been God s program and what he has as a spiritual blessing not only for us for the women He is using to put it together. There is teaching we shall receive abundantly from His plan. Oh taste and see. God is so good. With that said, for any of you ladies who have not already signed up, there is still time. Please sign up before the third and final payment. After that, there will be a $50.00 late fee assigned. We have to be able to give the hotel an accurate count. There are rooms available as well. There are still 15 room for both Thursday and Friday nights. There is still 1 room available for Wednesday. We can surely open up more rooms as needed. Please refer to the awesome prices of room and note that the registration has remained the same for several years. Charleston is what the Lord has placed for the Red Seas in our lives this year. He has a word for us and I am definitely ready to not only hear but act on. We hope you will join us! So ladies, Don t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Philippians 4:6. Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5: Kind Regards and Love Valerie 2018/19 Officers 6
2 Daughters of the King This year we have selected : Daughters of the King!! Our Scripture basis is 1 John 3:1-3 See what kind of love the Father has given us that we should be called children of the God and so are we. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God s children now. And what we will be has not yet appeared. We are excited about preparing for you ladies and ask that you pray that we may stay in HIS Will and in HIS Favor. Ultimately this is always about HIM. Dr. Micean Johnikin Pediatric Cardiologist Second Session Empowered by the Holy Spirit Our vision, as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. We are to become reflections of God s love throughout the world. We are all at different stages on our Christian journeys ; some have just begun while others have been on their paths for a long time. No matter where they are on their sacred journeys our primary goals is the same. To know Jesus Christ and make him known to others. John 1:12 But to all who did receive Him, and believed in Him, he gave the right to become the children of God. John 16:21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come; but when she delivers the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish for the joy that a human being is being born into the world. Third Session The Power to Live like a Princess!! This uses a number of different verses from the Bible to help women discover how to live as Daughters of the King even when they struggle! Dr. Delma Bennett Peoples, formerly of Richmond, Kentucky, wife of Dr. Thomas Howard Peoples Jr and First Lady of Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church of Lexington, KY. Sister Peoples received an award for over 50 years of service in the Master s Vineyard as a gifted songstress and musician at the Lift Every Voice 10th Anniversary Program. Sister Peoples was brought to tears in her humbleness of being recognized for just doing what she loves. She received a beautiful crystal award that was just beautiful and meaningful to her. Sister Peoples has been the Chairperson of the Music Department at Historic Pleasant Green Baptist Church. She also recorded a professional CD entitled My Tribute She also sung in a gospel group in her youth call the Wings over Jordan which was very popular in the Richmond area.
