2 Here are The Eight Steps in Rebuilding, Restoring and Renewing Your Place with God and what you can expect on Sundays Sunday, September 9 Step #1: Recognize the Issues Houston, We Have a Problem Nehemiah 1:1-22 Nehemiah understood the importance of rebuilding, restoring and renewing the walls of Jerusalem. He did not deny or ignore the problems. He embraced them. He confessed them. This is the only way to begin the process of rebuilding, restoring and renewing your place with God. Sunday, September 16 Step #2: Gather Resources How to Have Favor with God and Man Nehemiah 2:1-10 The role of a third party in your mission is important. There are many people around you who will play a key role in rebuilding, restoring and renewing your place with God. You must find them, embrace them and allow their gifts and skills to help you. Sunday, September 23 Step #3: Develop a Plan Your Answer is Found in the Secret Place Nehemiah 2:11-16 Everything you need in life is in you right now! Unlock those treasures by developing the ability to hear God in the secret place. It is there that He will share His wisdom with you as work together to rebuild, restore and renew your place with God. Sunday, September 30 Step #4: Launch the Mission Overcoming the Fear to Act Nehemiah 2:17-20 When it comes time to act, we must act decisively. Fear is the enemy. It comes in many forms. Don t let excuses, intimidation, embarrassment or blame hold you back from rebuilding, restoring and renewing your place with God. Sunday, October 7 Step #5: Focus on the Agenda Life is the Ultimate Fixer Upper Nehemiah 3:1-32 There were 10 gates that Nehemiah repaired. Each one of them had a name and purpose. Is there significance in the names of these gates? Can we gain insights for today from this ancient wisdom? I think so! Each one will allow you to enter a new dimension in rebuilding, restoring and renewing your place with God. 1

3 Sunday, October 14 Step #6: Expect Resistance What the Enemy Fears the Most Nehemiah 4:1-6 Satan s worst fear is that you will rebuild, restore and renew your place with God. Learn what elements he fears the most and use those things against him. Nehemiah understood how to turn accusations and intimidation into a powerful weapon against his enemies and so can you. Sunday, October 21 Step #7: Adjust the Plan Where Tools and Weapons Meet Nehemiah 4:7-12 Nothing ever goes as planned. People often give up when they are met with unexpected obstacles. Learn from Nehemiah how to make adjustments midstream that will preserve the mission and help achieve our objective of restoring, rebuilding and renewing our place with God. Sunday, October 28 Step #8: Finish Strong Overcoming Satan s Ultimate Strategy Nehemiah 6:1-14 When we are determined to restore, renew and rebuild our place with God, Satan pulls out his final weapon distraction! Like the soil that was bearing good fruit, weeds often appear out of nowhere. Jesus called the cares of life. These things seem innocent and non-threatening at first but can derail your mission to rebuild, restore and renew your place with God. LET S BEGIN THE JOURNEY! 2

4 Day 1 Monday, Sep 10 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105, NIV God, guide my life today. Shine your word on my feet and my path. Help me to walk in your ways and be the person you want me to be! AMEN! God is going to guide you today. Believe it! He s big enough to keep you in the center of His will! 3

5 Day 2 Tuesday, Sep 11 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5, NIV God, help me not to be solely dependent on myself. Give me your wisdom, insight and strength today! AMEN! Neither one of us is smart enough to do it on our own. But God is with both of us and we can rest on that! 4

6 Day 3 Wednesday, Sep 12 Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17, KJV AMEN! God, help me to remember you today many times throughout the day. And when I do, I will be thankful and praise you for all you have done for me! IT S WEDNESDAY! MEET WITH MEN S AND WOMEN S GROUPS TONIGHT AT 7PM IN THE LIFE CENTER! 5

7 Day 4 Thursday, Sep 13 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV God, thank you for making me a new creation. Help me to become acquainted with the new me and live it out all day before my family and friends! AMEN! You are not the same person you used to be. You re a brand new creation! Now live like it!!! :-) 6

8 Day 5 Friday, Sep 14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. - 1 Corinthians 16:13, NIV God, help me be strong today no matter what happens no matter the cost. I want to be an example to everyone I meet! AMEN! You are stronger than you give yourself credit for especially since God lives in you. YOU ARE STRONG!!! 7

9 Day 6 Saturday, Sep 15 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. - Colossians 3:23, NKJV God, help me do my best today. Let me not slack in my conduct and performance at home or at work. I will do all things for you today! AMEN! Imagine Jesus standing in front of you all day. Whatever you say or do, do it and say it for Him! 8

10 Day 7 Sunday, Sep 16 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:34, KJV God, you are my treasure and you are my reward. Heaven is my home. Help me to put my heart in things eternal and not on earthly things that are temporary! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! SEE YOU IN CHURCH THIS MORNING & IN LIFE GROUPS IN THE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING! 9

11 Day 8 Monday, Sep 17 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13, NKJV God, there is no doubt in my mind that you can do all things. Help me today to believe that since you are in me, I can do all things, too! AMEN! Its the start of a new week. And here s the good news You already have the strength to own it! Go for it!!! 10

12 Day 9 Tuesday, Sep 18 My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:19, KJV God, you love me and care for me. I choose to believe and live my life with the understanding that you will supply all my needs today! AMEN! The fact that you have a need is a testimony that God has the answer. Seek Him and you shall find it! 11

13 Day 10 Wednesday, Sep 19 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11, NIV God, I am excited for this day because I know that you have planned many good things for me. Help me recognize them and praise you for each one! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY! 14 Day 11 Thursday, Sep 20 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3, ESV God, help me keep my mind fixed on you all day today. No matter what happens, I will chose to look to you and not be afraid! AMEN! God is your keeper. Think about Him all day and His peace will keep you on the path you need to travel! 13

15 Day 12 Friday, Sep 21 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. - James 1:5, ESV God, your word says that you want to give me wisdom. I need your wisdom. So I ask for it now Lord, please give me your wisdom. And I thank you for it! AMEN! Wisdom is yours! Right now! Just ask for it and you shall have it. It s a promise from our Father! 14

16 Day 13 Saturday, Sep 22 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! - Psalm 107:8, KJV God, I will praise you. Even if no one else around me praises, I will praise you. You are worthy to be praised and the devil hates it when I do this. So I will praise you all day! AMEN! Don t get so busy on this Saturday that you forget to take time to praise and thank your Father! Do it now!!! 15

17 Day 14 Sunday, Sep 23 For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:9, NIV God, you have good thing in store for me and I will receive them. Forgive me for looking to the world for fulfillment. Only you can fill me. Thank you, Lord! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! 18 Day 15 Monday, Sep 24 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7, NIV God, help me see the opportunities you put before me to sow good things into people. Help me take advantage of every opportunity to sow what I can into others! AMEN! Every good word and deed you share with somebody today will be rewarded. And you will be blessed because of it! 17

19 Day 16 Tuesday, Sep 25 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1, ESV God, you have always shepherded me, even when I went astray. You love me and I thank you that even now, you are with me and guiding my life! AMEN! Jesus is looking over your life today. Be at peace and know the Great Shepherd watches over His sheep! 18

20 Day 17 Wednesday, Sep 26 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6, ESV God, your goodness and your mercy shall be my companions forever. I believe that. So help me share your goodness and mercy with others today! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY! 21 Day 18 Thursday, Sep 27 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, KJV God, no matter what happens to me today, I know that you have planned something good to come from it. What Satan means for evil, you mean for good! AMEN! Every situation and every event today is working in the grand scheme of your life to make you more like Christ! 20

22 Day 19 Friday, Sep 28 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31, KJV God, you are for me. No matter what or who may come against me, I know that you are for me and nothing shall defeat me. I am yours! AMEN! Nobody is able to stand against you and your Father! Nobody! That s just the way it is for His kids! 21

23 Day 20 Saturday, Sep 29 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV God, I am a thankful person. No matter what happens to me today, I know that my thanksgiving will pave a way for victory! AMEN! It may be hard to praise Him for everything, but if you do, you will find strength to make it all a blessing! 22

24 Day 21 Sunday, Sep 30 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7, KJV God, I thank you for the love, power and sound mind you have given me. 25 Day 22 Monday, Oct 1 Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6, ESV God, I thank you for your son, Jesus Christ. It is though him that I can come to you and know that when you look at me, you see Jesus. In that I am confident! AMEN! Aren t you glad that we don t have to come to God in our own name or works? Thank God for His Son Jesus right now! 24

26 Day 23 Tuesday, Oct 2 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23, NIV God, I am never perfect. I admit my need for Jesus and his righteousness in order to be saved and remain in relationship with you. Thank you for providing a way for me! AMEN! Remember, none of us are perfect. Don t let anyone judge you not people, not the devil and not yourself! 25

27 Day 24 Wednesday, Oct 3 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8, ESV God, even on my best days, I need Jesus. Thank you for the gift of faith working in me to believe and continue even when I don t measure up! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY! MEET WITH MEN S AND WOMEN S GROUPS TONIGHT AT 7PM IN THE LIFE CENTER! 26

28 Day 25 Thursday, Oct 4 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14, NIV God, there is more in me than anyone, including me, realizes. Help me to live out my purpose in life to the fullest for your glory! AMEN! Go look in the mirror and tell yourself how great God must be for creating a person such as yourself. David did! 27

29 Day 26 Friday, Oct 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5, NIV God, help me to love you more to put you first in my mind and life. I can t do it on my own. I need your help and I thank you for providing everything I need at this very moment! AMEN! Love is the beginning and the ending of our relationship with God. Consider Jesus and you ll fall deeper in love with Him. 28

30 Day 27 Saturday, Oct 6 Love your neighbor as yourself. - Matthew 22:39, NIV God, give me your love today your love for people around me and for myself. I can t do this without you. Make your love real to me today and help me share it! AMEN! It may not be easy to love everyone today. But with God, all things are possible. They need to see God s love, too! 29

31 Day 28 Sunday, Oct 7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. - Philippians 4:6, NIV God, give me a thankful and prayerful heart today all day. And with my relationship with you, help me not to be fearful and anxious about life, people and circumstances! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! 32 Day 29 Monday, Oct 8 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7, NIV God, you give me perfect peace. Thank you for keeping my mind at peace. Help me today to be at peace in every situation I encounter! AMEN! Go in confidence today. The peace of God will stand guard over your heart and mind. Relax, He s got this! 31

33 Day 30 Tuesday, Oct 9 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5, ESV God, while there might be enemies all around me, I know that you are a shield around me and will protect me all day long! AMEN! No matter what happens to you today, God is a shield over you and you re going to make it through! Victoriously! 32

34 Day 31 Wednesday, Oct 10 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV God, I m going to have fun today. I m going to laugh and have a good time. And when I do, I will think of you and be grateful for such a full and happy life! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY! 35 Day 32 Thursday, Oct 11 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. - Genesis 1:1, ESV God, you are creative. You are the architect of mankind. You know what you are doing. I will trust you today and follow your path because it is the best path! AMEN! Jesus is the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end. He s on your side past, present and future! 34

36 Day 33 Friday, Oct 12 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. - Psalm 19:1, NIV God, help me to slow down today and take in the beautiful world that you have created. Help me to notice the small in life and be grateful for them! AMEN! When you look around today, remember that God created all this just for you. Think of that JUST FOR YOU! 35

37 Day 34 Saturday, Oct 13 The LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. - Psalm 1:6, ESV God, I am righteous in your son, Jesus. Help me to walk in that reality and warn others who do not walk in righteousness. I want to be your example! AMEN! You don t have to defend yourself against accusations! God is your defense and the truth will come out! 36

38 Day 35 Sunday, Oct 14 Thus says the LORD Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Isaiah 43:1, ESV God, I will not fear anything or anyone. You have told me not to fear and you are giving me the strength to perform that command. Thank you! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! 39 Day 36 Monday, Oct 15 I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:11, ESV God, keep me from putting my trust and my hope in earthly things not my possession, my position or other people. You alone are my strength! AMEN! Nothing in life will save you except Jesus. So don t give yourself away so easily. You re worth more than that! 38

40 Day 37 Tuesday, Oct 16 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. - Matthew 5:14, ESV God, you have said this about me - I am a city on a hill providing light to many. Help me to understand this and let my light shine to help as many people as I can! AMEN! He s talking about you in that verse up there! Yes, Mr/Mrs Light-of-your-City! Let s shine bright for Him! 39

41 Day 38 Wednesday, Oct 17 Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16, NIV God, you have put me in this world to help others. 42 Day 39 Thursday, Oct 18 Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33, KJV God, I know that you have everything under control. Help me to do what I can today and leave the rest to you! AMEN! Don t worry! Put first things first and God promises to take care of the situation you re in. He promised! 41

43 Day 40 Friday, Oct 19 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom Colossians 3:16, KJV God, thank you for your word. It is power and wisdom. As I live out your word today, I know that you will care for me and others will be drawn to you! AMEN! Don t neglect your Bible or your prayer life today. Listen to a good podcast or worship music. It will help you! 42

44 Day 41 Saturday, Oct 20 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8, KJV God, you are always the same. You are the God of Abraham, Moses and Joshua. You are the God who will help me today as you helped them! AMEN! Everything in the world will change today except this our God! He will always be there for you! 43

45 Day 42 Sunday, Oct 21 They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31, KJV God, I will serve you today. And in serving you, I know you will strengthen me so I can live out my full potential and be an example to others! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! 46 Day 43 Monday, Oct 22 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27, NIV God, I know that you have given me peace today. Help me to fight through the worry and fear and find rest in your peace. This is my quest! AMEN! Jesus peace will be with you today. That s the peace He had in the storm. That same peace is yours! 45

47 Day 44 Tuesday, Oct 23 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn. Psalm 37:4, NIV God, there are some people in my life that come against me. They need to see your light and love. Show them through me today as I choose to love them in spite of their conduct! AMEN! Just focus on God today and leave the details to Him. It s all going to work out no matter what they say! 46

48 Day 45 Wednesday, Oct 24 Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24b, ESV God, I m going to be bold today and ask you for some big things. My faith is in you and not in myself to perform the things I ask. I am ready for more! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY! MEET WITH MEN S AND WOMEN S GROUPS TONIGHT AT 7PM IN THE LIFE CENTER! 47

49 Day 46 Thursday, Oct 25 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16, KJV God, you loved me before I ever loved you. Help me remember that today as I encounter people who are hard to love. Love them through me! AMEN! Don t get too caught up in things today. Your heart and home is not here. You have eternal life with Him in heaven! 48

50 Day 47 Friday, Oct 26 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - 1 John 4:7, NKJV God, you are love. There is nothing more important for me than to love you and love others as I love myself. Help me to share your love with everyone I meet! AMEN! Just love people today. When you don t know what else to do, just love them! 49

51 Day 48 Saturday, Oct 27 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Hebrews 10:24, NLT God, help me be an encourager today. Help me think of ways that I can bless everyone I meet in small ways and in big ways! AMEN! You can change someone s life today. Make it a point to start at home and continue all day to love people! 50

52 Day 49 Sunday, Oct 28 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things. Philippians 4:8, NIV God, my mind is powerful. Help me keep my mind locked on you today and only think good and purposeful thoughts about life, others and myself! AMEN! HEY! IT S SUNDAY! 53 Day 50 Monday, Oct 29 If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity, and their years in contentment. Job 36:11, NIV God, I know that you are concerned about all aspects of my life. I commit myself to obey and serve you and believe that all areas of my life are blessed! AMEN! Serving God is a lifelong commitment that pays dividends in this life and in the life to come. Stay focused! 52

54 Day 51 Tuesday, Oct 30 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:18-19a, NIV God, I release myself from the pain and agony of the past and choose to forgive those who have hurt me. In this, I know that I shall be free! AMEN! The past is past. Put your past behind you today and don t let the devil or anyone else bring it up. It s gone! 53

55 Day 52 Wednesday, Oct 31 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. Psalm 150:6, NIV God, if I don t do anything else right today, I am going to do this right I m going to praise you and worship you all day long! AMEN! IT S WEDNESDAY!
