Bill Pollack, Senior Minister I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power for us who believe, according to the working of His great power [Holy Spirit]. (Ephesians 1:15-19) A s our ministry together comes to a close, in a few weeks from now; our relationship in Christ will not end. In my reflection of the past fourteen months, I am amazed at what God has done. He has given me the utmost privilege of sharing in His ministry with some incredibly loving and caring people. We have experienced His movement among us with the joy of baptisms and new faith; rekindling of faith through the rededication of lives to Christ. We have shared through Bible studies and worship the present God who is a help in the midst of our lives. And, we have shared in our grief and tears as we said our earthly goodbyes to loved ones; in hope of rejoining them one day. Such is ministry. New friendships, deeper faith experiences and the everpresent awareness that God is with us! I believe the apostle Paul felt the same things when he wrote the words of the Ephesians text above. I echo his thoughts. I have seen your faith in action. I have watched your ministry to many here in the Richlands area, Fayetteville and the world. All you have done is a reflection of your faith in Jesus and the love for others. I will always thank God for you in this. Yet, I believe there is still more. There are many other chapters that will be written by the faithful people here at Richlands First Christian Church. There are many challenges, joys, tears and accomplishments of the people of God here on Trott Road. God is not finished with you yet! And because He has more for you to experience, I, along with Paul, pray for a deepening faith experience for you all. Seek the Lord. Strive to learn more of Him in your daily study and reflection of the Bible. Remain faithful in your worship. Experience the blessing of God as you come to the table that offers you hope for all your tomorrows. And always remember this one thing; God s Holy Spirit which raised Jesus from the grave, will also raise you in power and hope in all your lives. Thank you for your love, support and encouragement to me and Nanette this past year. We will never cease to pray for you. You will be remembered in our hearts with thankfulness and joy. May the God who WAS, who IS and who WILL BE, keep your hearts secure in Him until Jesus comes in His glory!

Mallorie Adkins has been our Interim Secretary for the last two months. April 29, we held a congregational meeting that resulted in her position becoming permanent. Please be sure to welcome her as a part of our staff. National Day of Prayer Richlands Ministers Fellowship is sponsoring National Day of Prayer on May 3. You are invited to join us at the Richlands Town Hall to pray for unity at 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CHEW Report January-March 2018 Our wonderful CHEW volunteers packed 1154 bags for children with food insecurity for the five Richlands Schools in the months of January, February and March We also provided food boxes for 20 families during the Easter break. I would like to give a big shout-out to Tammy Harmon and Jessica Chadwick, social workers, who did a wonderful job with the schools food drive for CHEW the week of March Richlands Elementary, Richlands Primary, Richlands High, Trexler Middle and Stateside Elementary Schools collected: 633 canned vegetables 689 fruit cups & canned fruit combined 141 jars of jelly 361 jars of peanut butter 122 cans of pasta This drive will help to continue to provide food for the weekends for approximately 100 children in the CHEW Program. Again, thank you Tammy and Jessica for all your hard work! Thank you also, to the dedicated volunteers as well as continued donations (both food and monetary) from individuals, churches, businesses and organizations that make it possible to help feed our children. Donate Your Christmas Cards DHF Gathering Make plans to attend the Spring Fellowship Gathering of our DHF, here at First Christian, Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. Our speaker this year is Dr. James Fleming, a distinguished Bible lands scholar. Lunch will be provided. Memorial Service A memorial service for Mary Ann Mett s sister, Carol Farrior Futrelle, will be held on Saturday, May 19 at First Christian Church. The visitation will be at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary and following, will be the memorial service at 7 p.m. We continue to collect the fronts of Christmas cards, if there is no writing on the inside, for next year s Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. You can bring them to Church office or give to Brenda Huffman. Luncheon Sunday, May 27, we will be having lunch in the Fellowship Hall directly following 11:00 Worship. The social committee will be preparing a lunch of BQQ pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and rolls. We are looking forward to seeing you! S.T.A.R.S. NEWS We welcome our S.T.A.R.S (55 and older) to join us Sunday, May 20 for a fun day at the ballpark. We will be taking the church van to Kinston for a Wood Ducks Minor League baseball game. 4 Christian Women s Fellowship News Mary Ann Metts, Secretary On April 10, fourteen ladies met in the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. for our CWF Meeting. After our opening prayer, we shared prayer praises and concerns. Rosolyn gave the devotion, What Does the Bible Say about Sickness and Dying? It tells us God does heal if not in this lifetime, He will when we pass. Scriptures shared were Jeremiah 17:14 and Jeremiah 30:17. Tammy shared a thank-you card from one of the family s we had helped and Rosolyn shared thanks from one also. Our first item of old business was an update on the craft show. Mary Ann reported we have 55 paid crafters and vendors at the present time. She also reported we have 4 necklaces and 4 pair of earrings given by Sheila Martin Trott to benefit our CWF. Brenda H. has ordered cards sympathy, get-well, etc. We will be selling these along with the jewelry at our craft show. We will have a table set up in the CLC and a schedule of the ladies helping with this. Our gift for our fathers has been received. For our new business, we have scheduled a ladies night out to be held at the Jacksonville Golden Corral at 6:30 p.m. on June 5 for ALL LADIES. We will have the church van with a driver available for any who want to ride the van. We can also carpool. This is a good time for delicious food and great fellowship. The Christmas box report was given by Brenda Pike. Our CWF treasurer also gave the CWF financial report. For our service project we are giving $150 to Relay for Life. All of us have been touched by cancer. We are also giving 2 others monetary gifts. We are so blessed to be able to give to others For our information, Brenda H. reported 32 have signed-up for our trip to the Billy Graham Library on June 9. She gave us options on our ways to travel. We can rent a big bus, drive the church van and in addition, have individuals to drive their vehicles and carpool. After delicious refreshments served by Peggy Jarman, she offered our closing prayer. Our next meeting is scheduled for May 8 with Brenda Huffman as our hostess. Again, we invite any and all ladies who are not attending at this time to join us. This is a great ministry, but we welcome new ideas. Christian Women s Fellowship Thanks you! Many thanks to everyone for helping make our Spring Craft Show a great success.
