SECRETARY S NOTES The month of June is approaching fast, and it will be time again to get out a new phone directory. Please take a few minutes and check out your information in the old phone directory, and send any updates to me. I have included a sheet you may fill out with any updates, or you can give me a call, drop me a note in the basket at church, or send me an . At this time I would also like to remind you of the newsletters schedule for the summer. It will be June, by itself, and then July and August together. Once again I want to thank everyone for all of their input and support on bulletins and newsletters. Jen Fuelling, Church Secretary -- JUNE NEWSLETTER DEADLINE will be Friday, May 19 th. Thanks! THE ANNUAL MOTHER'S DAY CARNATION SALE will be on Mother s Day after the worship service, sponsored by Decatur Area Lutherans for Life. Honor your mother by giving her a carnation ($1.00 each); and, at the same time, help pro-life causes in the local area. SCRIP NEWS: We are in a lower than normal time of using Scrip gift cards and would like to have everyone think about using them. It only helps our kids at St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran School which is such a wonderful cause. Stop by the table on Sunday, send an order with your child to school, or give us a call to place your order. Graduation is coming soon and these cards would make great gifts... Karen Karey SPI SPRING MUSICAL: You are invited to attend the Spring Musical School House Rock on May 5 th at 9am or 7pm in the school gymnasium. SPI NEEDS YOUR PLASTIC BAGS: Ms. LeBeau is asking for your plastic grocery and store bags to use in her classroom. Please send in your clean plastic bags. Ms. LeBeau s class needs a lot of these bags! Thank you!

Love One Another Serve the Lord Romans 12:10-11 The SRD committees and District President will present sessions. Each attendee will choose three (3) sessions to attend. Registration Fee: $ includes a morning snack, bottled water, and packed lunch. Registration will open in May. September 17, 2017 SRD Workshop, St John Lutheran Church Bingen 3:00 PM 1.) Opening devotions by Rev. Peter Brock 2.) Knotting quilts for Lutheran World Relief. 3.) At the present time (4-23-l7) we have 9 quilts needing knotted. We encourage you to continue using up your old material by making 45 X 60 sized quilts to be knotted. Help us keep count by notifying Marlene Conrad if you will be donating quilts to be knotted. 4.) Come help knot on Sunday, Sept 17 th. Bring Scissors. Many working hands make light work and will be appreciated. 5.) We will need boxes to pack the quilts into for donation. (No heavier than 50 lbs. each.) 6.)
