Psalm 8 - God has given us and majesty. Genesis 2: Marriage is the first divine institution, rooted in the, uniting one man and one woman in an covenant commitment for their joint lifetime, for their good and the good of their children. (Matthew 19:4-9; Malachi 2:14-16) Genesis 3: The fall of man into sin and God s curse have introduced and into God s good creation. (Romans 8:20) Based upon these and other Scriptures, we believe that: MARRIAGE - is defined by, not, and is the uniting of one man and one woman in an exclusive covenant commitment. - Weddings in GCC reflect this biblical truth. SEXUAL IDENITY - The assignment of biological in the womb is the and prerogative of God. - We extend love and compassion to those whose experience of the of sin includes a perceived between their biological sex and gender identity. -We affirm that gender identity should be determined by, not self-perception. SEXUALITY - We affirm that we are sexual beings and that sex is. - Scripture teaches that sex is for marriage, to bring (Genesis 2:24) and for. (Genesis 1:28; Hebrews 13:4) - Sex outside of marriage is. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Hebrews 13:4) -Sanctification includes (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20) Our Elders are available to pray for needs on Sunday mornings. He was saved thru the AWANA ministry and has served as Game Director, Commander and Zone Director. Donna was raised in a believing household and came to faith at age 9. Their daughter, Shannon, is quite involved and often travels with her parents. Jamie seeks to involve more churches in this ministry as a tool to help children in those churches learn the Word of God more effectively. Strategy includes meeting with pastors and church leaders as well as setting up booths at denominational conferences. Jamie and Donna s support level is at about 55% and Donna remains employed in order to support the ministry. Pray for an increased support level. 7 PRAYER REQUESTS, PRAISES & ANSWERS: Please note your prayer requests on today s response card. Also, remember to tell us how God answers. Mackenzie Tomazi is at Great Circle for a 30-day residential program. Please continue to pray for God s peace and comfort for the Tomazi family as they struggle through this issue. Also Cyndi would like prayer as she deals with depression and anxiety. Dixie Shafer asks for prayer for their son, Steve, who is to have a biopsy on his psoriasis to see if it is related to lymphoma. He is very depressed and not open to God. Also their daughter, Teri, who injured her knee and needs to find a church home. Dixie s sister, Ina, is recovering from knee replacement surgery and is trusting God for healing and pain relief. Shelley Edelman - Pray that God would put in place remembrances of Himself in the lives of my coworkers and they would receive Him as Savior. Jo Carnes is in the hospital due to a perforated ulcer and some complications. Pray for wisdom in treatment and a quick recovery. Joy Stanfill asks for prayers for her friend, Judy, who recently had knee replacement surgery. Pray for a quick and total recovery. Also Joy just had gall bladder surgery this past Friday. Pray for pain relief and a quick recovery. Steve & Diana Smith at Kentucky Mountain Mission: Pray the 600 treat bags handed out to kids during the Woolly Worm Festival this month will be taken and the tracts inside will be read. Diana is having surgery on October 25 to remove a small benign tumor on her foot. Pray for their camp Jr. staff workers as they are back in college and high school to shine for the Lord. Mark & Jodi Revell in Hungary: Praise for six believers they found at a refugee transitional home in Budapest. One was an employee, two women from Nigeria (both mothers of infants), a mother of four from Ethiopia, and a young couple from Afghanistan who have become Christians since arriving in Budapest. Please pray specifically for the Afghani couple who are the only Christians among the large population in the home. They are enthusiastic about their new faith and the smiles on their faces give testimony to the fact they are new creations. Pray God uses this sweet couple to draw others to himself. Also please pray God would provide additional Farsi/Afhani/Persian speaking Christians to minister among this group. Margi Trujillo fell and tumbled down a ravine while walking her dog last week. She separated her shoulder and re-injured her knee. She is in a sling and can t do much. Please pray for healing and strength. Mark & Marjorie Schoonover - Thanks for praying and we ask for continued prayer. Marjorie was diagnosed with MDS - myelodysplasdtic syndrome. We are meeting with the doctor for consultation on October 10 and October 14 with the possibility of Chemo starting on October 17. Pray for wisdom as we get over the shock of this diagnosis and seek His direction as we go through the next steps of treatment. God knows and is ordering our steps so we are trusting Him to lead us these next weeks. Barbara Krug - My mother has been diagnosed with pneumonia. She is still praying for the Lord to take her and would appreciate prayer for that to be His will for her. We are asking for mercy and that she will just sleep away into His arms. They are giving her medication to help the discomfort. Please pray for wisdom for myself regarding whether to go back now or wait. Ongoing prayers for long term health battles: Ellen Crahen, Harry Yeakey, Joyce Bowman, Art Kiehne, Roger Rodgers, Leon Arnold, Sheri Libby, Chelle Bell, John Wagner, Bob Shields, Bill Bathman, Mackenzie & Cyndi Tomazi, and Pat Van Housen. Also remember our troops and first responders serving at home and around the world.
