1 NATIONAL NEWSLETTER MARCH NATIONAL RALLY-JUNE 5-7, 2019 HUTCHISON, KANSAS Word from the President of Kansas/Nebraska Greetings, I know that for many of you the weather has been difficult but now is an excellent time to plan a vacation. Let me suggest that you consider a trip to the National Campers On Mission Rally which will be held in Hutchinson, Kansas, June 5-7, We have an excellent facility at the Kansas State Fairgrounds which will house most of our activities for the Rally. Our theme this year is "Harvesting with Jesus in the Heartland" and we need your presence as "seed planters" to enhance the harvest that will be reaped at the coming of our Lord Jesus. We plan to kickoff the Rally with a short service on Tuesday evening (June 4) featuring the Salt City Cowboy Church who will lead us in singing praise to our Lord Jesus and their pastor, Montie McFerrin will share a devotion with us. Each day of the Rally will feature outstanding speakers such as Bob Mills, Executive Director, Kansas-Nebraska SBC and pastors from across our two state convention. Our line-up of seminars include a three day Bible Study (Drawing Nearer to God) lead by our Chaplin Floyd Smith. Floyd will keep your attention as he shares God's word each day. We will also feature Christian Author, Kim Vogel Sawyer as she shares her testimony and tells how God has lead her to write over 50 books. A unique seminar will feature Dr. Elliott Johnson, Editor of Trail Ride Magazine, who will share how to apply biblical principals to old west stories. This is a popular outreach to Cowboy Churches. We will also have seminars on plumbing, RV Repair, Ladder Safety, and full time RVing. Our entertainment will consist of local talent and will conclude on Friday evening with Last Chance Revival, a local southern Gospel Group from Hutchinson. Activities for your children (Kindergarten - 6th Grade) will be held in a separate building (approximately 150 yards from our venue) on the Kansas State Fairground. There are several local activities for your enjoyment including a Salt Mine Tour, Kansas Cosmosphere, excellent Golf courses and a famous Amish hardware store (a favorite of the guys) in near by Yoder, Kansas. While in Yoder you may want to sample the food at Carriage Crossing Restaurant. (Excellent) Our evening meals will be prepared by an Amish caterer and I am sure that you will not leave the table hungry!! All of our RV parking includes full hookups and spaces are all within waling distance of our meeting venue. We will also be providing shuttle service to and from your RV for your convenience. I believe that you will have a great time at the Rally and we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Lord Bless each of you and keep you safe as you travel. 4 NOTES FROM: NATIONAL COORDINATOR We re back!!! It s been a journey, but God has been with us every step of the way. We are grateful, blessed and thankful that our awesome God went with us through it all!! Cont. National Coordinator His Reply: Why would we stop what we are doing? So here we are still doing COM. PTL!!! Sharing Christ As We Go Short Version: August 28, 2018 celebrating our anniversary in Branson. Jerry suffered 2 strokes within minutes of each other. In acute rehab for 33 days. Dischared Sept. 27, back in ER Sept. 28 with brain bleed from blood thinners. 5 more days in Springfield, Mo. Hospital. Dischared back to Branson to start outpatient therapy (speech, physical, & occupational) 30 more days in Branson for therapy. Then Florida for 3 more months of therapy. Jerry has gone from not speaking or moving to: Walking without any assistance, speaking, and doing everything he did before the strokes. Nurses/Doctors called him the Walking/Talking Miracle. As he was not to have survived the first 2 strokes. Much less the bleed. But God.Thank you for all the prayers and many kindnesses to us. You all are an amazing group to be a part of. We are in catch up mode: With Praise Reports, Awards, updating website other correspondence etc. A bit overwhelming, but one step at a time. Good to be working along with Kansas/Nebraska as they finalize the last days of preparation for the 2019 National Rally. Oh it is looking good ya ll! By the time you all receive newsletter, God willing we will be on our way to the Passion Play. Will be in Oklahoma for their Spring Rally, a visit to our family in Nebraska and then onto Kansas/Nebraska Spring Rally Exciting even while we were in challenge mode: Folks were still joining COM; signing up on National Website. Individual states membership was increasing. Projects being finished, and new projects starting. Adding National Projects; be sure to check out the latest projects on National Website. When you go through a major life changing situation, there are times you ask yourself, Lord what are you wanting us to see, do or not do, change, or eliminate? I asked Jerry, do you feel God wants us off the road, live here or there or just spend time visiting with family What ever you decide Jerry. REGION 4 REPRESENTATIVES Welcome Don and Jan Kragness from Illinois. Don and Jan are very active in COM and in Disaster Relief. We are excited to have them on board with National COM The Region 4 states are excited as Don and Jan are already setting up their Rally dates and projects. WELCOME DON AND JAN!!!!!! Enjoying the beach will be terrific, however, nothing can be as rewarding as being with fellow COM friends as we gather in Myrtle Beach, SC, for our 2020 COM Naional Rally!! Worhsip times will be filled with Spirit-filled guest speakers, wonderful musicians and laughter. Interesting and resourceful workshops/seminars will be offered as well!!! Members are easily identified for National Projects by number. The cards are the size of a credit card. (NEW PROCESS TO VOLUNTEER) AT THE PASSION PLAY 1. First Time Volunteer: Go to National Website: fill out online form and submit 2. Past Volunteer: fill out online form/submit 3. Returning Volunteer: Just National Coordinator. We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don t know what to do, we never give up in time of trouble. God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again. (II Cor. 4:8-9)
