We went to classes every day. They had a separate class for boys and one for girls. Each camper also got to select two elective classes. I chose the Zion Builders class. It was a team building exercise. Anna and I attended this class together. My other class was on the book of Revelation. In this class, we F.Y.I. Special Music: On Sunday, June 24 the Josh Loyd family attended ZO. This presented an opportunity for the Burford sisters to blended their lovely voices together for the special music at the 11am service. Pictured below are the 3 sisters; thank you for sharing your talents! L to R: Anna, Naomi, Claire [Loyd] were reading about the last days. As we were reading, I thought on how we mustn t procrastinate anymore and truly get in line with God. I really felt blessed to be in this class. I also loved the campfire we had every night because we sang praises to our Father in heaven. I loved being at camp. It helped me to come closer to God and to know people better and to meet new friends. by Naomi Burford Naomi and I had the privilege of attending the 2018 CMRB Sr. High Camp. This was Naomi s first year and my last year to go. [Testimonies continued on page 2] Z0 Business Meeting.: On July 1, the branch meet to discuss two financial subjects: repaving the driveway entrance and improvements on the property in Honduras. The minuets from the March 4 business were first approved without corrections. Driveway Entrance: The need to replace the concrete was placed before the membership with a bid of $2,000. After discussion the body approved to proceed with it. Honduras Property: After Dave N., Dwight B. & Gary W. s communication with Chuck Speery [who lives in Honduras] concerning a portion of the street next to the rental properties. In 2019 the city plans to pave the road. In Honduras the propperty owners adjacent to the proposed road improvement must pay for one-half of the cost and the city the other half. The total for our portion is about $4,000. After discussion the branch approved to notify the mayor that we are in favor of giving financial support to the road project. 2 Women s Department 2018 WD Theme: Sowers of the Word Dear Sisters-in-Christ, I trust your summer has been enjoyable and filled with family and friends, and I hope more fellowship is to come in the remainder of the summer. A reminder that our July meeting is on Monday the 9th. We will meet at the church and begin with a Salad Supper and then a devotional will be presented by Sister Pam Burford. The rest of our evening will be focused on a service project led by Sister Martha Van Nordstrand. I look forward to our fellowship! As we seek to understand the lessons contained in the written word of God, that of planting His seed, the word, into our life, may our desire be to become His... Sowers of the Word Your servant and sister-in- Christ, Debbie Newman Women s Dept. Leader 2018 A graduation Thank You note from Anna Burford: Dear Zion s Outpost, Thank you all for giving me the Jesus Calling book! I am so blessed to have such wonderful church family to attend church with.. Thank you for your support! Love, Anna Zion s Busy Bees: The next several meetings for the sewing group are as follows: July 24, August 21 & Sept. 18 Contact Sandy Whiting for details. [Youth Camp & Reunion Testimonies continued from page 1] There were around 50 campers in all and a number of staff. The camp pastor was Craig Johnson. The new camp directors are Jeff and Shelly Morrison. There were quite a few new people to camp one even came from Mexico City, Mexico! Tuesday night we had a very sobering service in which we observed the things that Christ went through leading up to and after His crucifixion, then we nailed our sins to a cross, had a time of meditation, and sang serious campfire songs around a campfire. The Sprit of the Lord was felt strongly that night. Thursday night at campfire, I felt strongly led to share a testimony about how the Lord had given me my voice back Friday evening at the South Crysler Reunion, and then how He took it away again. I shared the many things that the Lord has taught me during this time of suffering in my life. Two people came to thank me for my testimony; I felt blessed that I was able to share something that was helpful to them in their walk with the Lord. Friday night at campfire, once again, the graduates stood to give counsel to the campers as we will not be with them next year. The Spirit was so strong that night I began to cry. I did not want to leave that beautiful place. The girls had our nighttime devotions at the upper lake Thursday and Friday. It was wonderful to be up there lying on blankets and sharing and singing with each other. It was so peaceful--made us feel closer to God. All in all the week was amazing! Many beautiful prayers and testimonies were shared. I look forward to attending more camps in the future. In July, I m going to attend Leadership Camp. Reunion: Page 2 by Anna Burford This summer affords Saints opportunities to meet together at camps and reunions to fellowship and grow together in understanding Christ and the ways of His Kingdom. In June, the Burford family was able to attend the South Crysler Restoration Branch reunion, held at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Approximately 350 people joined together for the week. The theme was Jesus, Mighty King in Zion. The prayer services were very excellent; they were led each day by Elder Nathan Smith. Directly after the prayer services, classes were held for all ages. Anna and Naomi attended the senior high class. The adult class, taught by Elder Jared Smith, focused on studying the subject of pride and the destruction caused by pride in our lives. A time of repentance was presented for the class, and it was a very rewarding experience. Song service was held each night in preparation for the preaching ministry. Anna played her flute one evening as part of the song service Other special classes and events were held throughout the week. One of these was a sacred music concert, prepared and performed by the young people in Carol Hall. In addition to Dwight, Pam, Anna, and Naomi attending, Josh and Claire Loyd were there for the week with their children Isaac, 3, and Sophie, 2. Joel and Brent Burford also attended. Brent brought a special friend, Kate, who is interested in learning about the gospel. The Burfords would like to encourage each of you to consider attending reunion. Future opportunities are listed on the bulletin board at church. by Pam Burford
