Box 867; Columbus, GA Telephone (706) Fax (706) Ministry Center (706) Prayer Room (706) stluke@stlukeum.com Website: Volume 49 September 15, 2013 No. 37 Treasures of the Transformed Life: Satisfying your Soul s Thirst for More This Sunday we will begin a discipleship focus entitled, Treasures of a Transformed Life. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This world transformation begins with the transformation of individual lives. Truly, St. Luke is, by the grace of God, The Transformation Place. September Priming the Pump September Drawing Water September Jumping In With Both Feet October 6... I Come With Joy (World Communion Sunday) October Pennies in the Fountain October Offering a Drink to Others October Filling the Bucket to Overflowing (Commitment Sunday) In an earlier generation, the lay leadership in The Methodist Church constituted a Board of Stewards. The idea was that everyone elected to leadership was a steward of the mercies of God. I would like to see us reclaim that understanding not only of leadership but also of membership. As disciples, we are all called to be stewards of the life God has given us, including our time, our talents and our treasure. A life being transformed by the grace of Christ is filled with many treasures. We will be exploring those treasures each Sunday in September and October. I hope you and your family will be a part of that exploration. Robert Beckum rbeckum@stlukeum.com STAY TUNED: Beginning September 15, St. Luke worship service radio broadcasts will move from FM 95.3 to FM 103.7, which offers a stronger signal and broader audience

4 Music Box Doyle Register, Director of Music Ministries, The Majesty and Glory of Your Name Tom Fettke When I gaze into the night skies and see the work of your fingers; the moon and stars suspended in space. Oh, what is man, that you are mindful of him? You have given man a crown of glory and honor, and have made him a little lower than the angels. You have put him in charge of all creation: the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea. But what is man that you are mindful of him. O Lord, our God the majesty and glory of your name transcends the earth and fills the heavens. O Lord, our God, little children praise You perfectly, and so would we. Alleluia! The majesty and glory of Your name. Alleluia! WORSHIP IN SPANISH: 12:20 p.m., Turner Chapel, The Rev. Dr. Ivelisse Quiñones, preaching.
