It is filled with difficulty, pain, injustice, violence, poverty, hunger Who can make it right? Arguably Jesus best friends were Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Jesus had received word that Lazarus was dying and by the time he got to his friend's home, Lazarus had died. This scene reminds us that God comes to us in our most difficult moments and offers unique and unimaginable ways to help us walk through them.

7 NEXT WEEK AT ELMHURST CRC Jesus coming out party as a religious figure was, oddly enough, at a wedding reception. His first miracle was not a healing of the sick, raising someone from the dead, or casting out demons. His first miracle was making sure that there was enough wine for a family friend to gracefully finish the wedding reception with enough wine for all the guests! John describes this as a sign. Having Jesus in our life brings celebration and joy! You can read John 2:1-11 for the entire story. Next Sunday we will witness the Sacrament of Baptism. June 28 th will also be the final Sunday of 8:55 and 11:05 worship before the single 10:00 am summer services begin on July 5 th. OUR CHURCH FAMILY Congratulations to Brian & Kristi Hoff on the birth of their son, Christian Michael, on May 27 We extend our sympathy to Russ & Judy Erffmeyer and family in the recent passing of Russ mother, Antoinette Erffmeyer, age 98, last week in Michigan. We add prayers of gratitude for her long and faithful life, a strong Christian legacy, and a confident homecoming to our Lord s side. Congratulations to all of our 2015 graduates! Tickets are $10 per person (free for age 12 and under). Call for tickets. One Church (churches united in Elmhurst) has a group that prays every Saturday from 8:30-9:30 am. This summer they will be praying at the churches of One Church. Anyone who would like to

9 join them for prayer as they pray for the ministries of our churches is welcome to join them. The group will be praying specifically for the church where the meeting is located. The group has already met at ECRC and Bethel Assembly of God.
