6 I will be with you in Paradise (2X) Sending & Blessing Postlude Worship Team - Doug Bardolph, Angela Buikema, Kyle Olson,Nina Schroeder, Marcy Tameling, Glenn Vanderveld, Dan Vlcek, Cindy Vos Sunday worship services are streamed live and archived for viewing on the web via LIVESTREAM (new.livestream.com/ecrc). TODAY AT ELMHURST CRC Today is Pentecost, the day we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit, as described in the book of Acts. We will continue in our series from James, reading the words of James 4: We'll look at how Christfollowers should speak about one another (Hint: if you don t have something nice to say about someone, don t say anything at all ) and how we should plan our days and our lives. James encourages us to not get too far ahead of ourselves and reminds us that planning is good as long as we can be flexible and as long as our plans glorify Christ and not ourselves. NEXT WEEK AT ELMHURST CRC At first glance this week s passage seems like a condemnation of business owners and anyone who is wealthy. Wealth in itself is not being condemned, but shows wealth at every level has the power to corrupt us. Meaning: wealth in itself is not problematic, but the power wealth has on us to be selfish and to think more highly of ourselves than we ought is. And though rich is relative, living in DuPage County makes us rich, particularly to the rest of the world so we need to be mindful. For preparation, read James 5: 1-6. OUR CHURCH FAMILY Please join us today, May 15, to celebrate the life and service of Kendra Aulich. We will be having a Memorial Service in the Worship Center at 1:30pm with a reception following from 2:30-4pm in the Garden Room. Join us in praying for each other.
