They are Catholic prayers, reflections, meditations, mental exercises, and directions designed to be read and carried out over a 28 to 30 day time period. These exercises are for Catholics and non-catholics alike and grew out of Ignatius's own desire to seek God's will and to follow Christ no matter what the cost. Ignatius's intent was that the exercises would help others to discern God's will and to set the world on fire for Christ!

4 Vacation Bible School is June 24-29, 2018 Registration is now open online! Go to the Faith Formation tab on our parish website. Our Vacation Bible School team is in need of a few helping hands. We are looking for station leaders and crew leaders to work with small groups. We also need assistance behind the scenes helping with food prep and other various tasks. If you are interested in being a part of this program please contact Amy Cheevers at the office for more information Please consider helping us continue this 12 year tradition at Sacred Heart. With spring sports underway and the hectic schedules they can bring... just a friendly reminder that Mass is also celebrated on Sundays at 11:30am at St. Mary s in Canaan and 5:30pm at St. Helena s in Enfield. Additionally, Mass is celebrated on Wednesday mornings at 11:30am at St. Helena s. We are seeking a part-time housekeeper/custodian to work hours per week on a flexible schedule. This individual will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the church buildings and for maintaining an environment of hospitality for parishioners and visitors. The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood or religious life. John Sullivan is continuing to offer Scripture reflections on the Mass readings in the LaSalette cafeteria on Tuesdays from 10 am to 11:30 am through Pentecost. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

5 This Weekend Parish Service Day Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, 1:30-3:30pm Rain or Shine LaSalette Shrine, Enfield. All are invited to join us! We will have activities including indoor and outdoor work, quiet prayer, and time to appreciate the wonder of God's creation. All ages are welcome! There will be individual and family projects. Parents and families will work together with their children and they will motivate, encourage and supervise the work. Wear clothes that can get dirty, and bring a reusable water bottle! If you have gardening tools, please bring them too! We will conclude the day with an Easter Egg hunt for our hard workers. The youngest kids will hide the eggs as their final project. Not only is it a fun activity, it is a great teaching tool to celebrate Eastertide - the 50 days of the Easter season. We often focus on the 40 days of Lent and forget that the celebration of Easter is actually 50 days! Specia Candl Availabl Durin th Mont of Ma May is the month of Our Blessed Mother. During the month we will have a special votive candle stand in the shape of an anchor placed before our Blessed Lady. Prayer through Mary will anchor us in Jesus Christ. The Anchor is the traditional symbol of hope. If you would like to have the anchor lit (10 candles) in honor of a loved one for a day (except Fridays) during the month, please contact the office at The suggested donation is $10. The Crowning of Mary will take place at the 7:00pm Mass on Tuesday, May 1st. The rosary will be prayed that evening beginning at 6:30pm. Prayer Partners: Adopt a Student Please keep in prayer all who be receiving sacraments of initiation this spring in our parish. First Communion will be celebrated on May 6th during the 9:30 am Mass and Confirmation is May 11th at 7:00 pm. There is a basket at the church entrances with photos of each student and a prayer on the back. Please select a student and encourage them when you see them at church. If you would like to give a card of encouragement to any student, feel free to bring it to the parish office or drop it in the card receptacle at the main entrance to the church. High School Teen Summer Opportunities Young Neighbors in Action : Last chance to reserve space for the Young Neighbors in Action service camp in Worcester, MA on July 15th-21st or 22st-29th. This program is similar to Catholic Heart Work Camp. hy-choose-it Soulfest: We are exploring the possibility of a group trip to SoulFest and need to gauge interest ASAP. The event is 3 days (August 2-4) at Gunstock Mountain and can be split into individual days. The fest is open to all ages. The Diocese will have a tent: the goal is for daily Adoration, Mass and Confession to be available. Please call the office to let us know that you are interested. You are invited!
