3 PARISH EVENTS EIGHT MONTH DEVELOPING BABY: You're in the home stretch with your spiritually adopted baby. He/ She is completely formed, and has been since 8 weeks. All he/she is doing now is gaining weight, and making his/her mother uncomfortable with his/her size. Mom, however, is not worried now. In a short time, her baby will be born. She has planned to bring him/her home, or to place himlher for adoption. Either way, she knows she can receive the assistance she needs from the Catholic Church and from the crisis pregnancy centers. Your baby's mother appreciates the prayers you have said for her and her baby throughout the pregnancy. It hasn't been easy, but your prayers have helped to give her grace to seek the help she needs. HELP THE CULPEPER PREGNANCY CENTER Make your reservation now to attend the 19th Candlelight Fundraising Dessert Reception on Oct 22nd benefiting the Pregnancy Center in Culpeper. The featured speaker is Gianna Jessen, an abortion survivor whose life story was loosely told in the movie "October Baby". It will be held at Germana Community College Daniel Technology Center at 7 pm. For further information or to make reservations, contact J. Beattie at or iarbb')34~j.\"ahoo.com. There is a table for St. Peter parishioners! Please support the wonderful ministry of the Culpeper Center which has served over 9,800 women, and has made a difference in the lives of many families. PRAY FOR AN END TO ABORTION Starting Sept. 28th, the 40 DAYS FOR LIFE campaign encourages one and all to combat the evil of abortion. It consists of 40 days of prar,er and fasting, community outreach, and constant, peaceful vigil in the public right-of-way outside abortion facilities (Charlottesville). Please pray... and join the peaceful 40 Days for Life effort from September 28-November 6. Encourage your family to be part of the beginning of the end of abortion! FRONT ROYAL PREGNANCY CENTER The Front Royal Pregnancy Center wishes to thank parishioners of St. Peter Church for all of your support for last Saturday's Walk for Life. With your assistance of having sponsored walkers, prayers and support, the FRPC was able to surpass our fundraising goalof$75,000!! Three of the highest walkers are parishioners at St. Peter's - Susan Wingate, Cora Snyder and Nick Riedel! We begin after the 7pm mass with evening prayer. Archbishop Fulton Sheen explains the importance of the Holy Hour: "Sitting before the Presence (of Our Lord) is like a body exposing itself before the sun to absorb its rays. Silence in the Hour is a tete-a-tete with the Lord. In those moments, one does not so much pour out written prayers, but listening takes its place. We do not say: "Listen, Lord, for Thy servant speaks," but "Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth."
