4 REMINDER MEETING: For those who are in the final stages of their preparation for Holy Communion. It will be Thursday night, this week, at 6:30pm at our St. Kevin s worship site. Back by popular demand...catch the Fire!... this dynamic presentation will "ignite" your interest in the Catholic Women's League and "rekindle" the "spark" for our councils at St. Joseph's Motherhouse in North Bay on Saturday, April 12th (9 am to 3 pm). Guaranteed to "brighten" your day! Open to ALL women - there is something for everyone - even if you have already "caught the fire". Bring a friend... bring a lunch (refreshments provided). NATIONAL CATHOLIC MISSION: Once again this year, The National Catholic Mission will be shown on Vision TV. This year, the Mission is entitled The Gift of Forgiveness. It will be broadcast on Monday, April 14 th (part 1) and Tuesday, April 15 th (part 2) at 6pm. It will be repeated on both nights at 10pm. The Mission will feature Fr. Ron Rolheiser, Sr. Melannie Svoboda, Paula D Arcy, and Tom & Barb Zanzig, all of whom have faced personal challenges that could have left them embittered. The Mission will look at how the hurts and cruelties we inevitably experience during the first half of our lives, at school, home and work, may be a source of the anger and resentment we feel in our later years. It will offer a pathway to help us rediscover a mellow and compassionate heart. 5 Week LENTEN MISSION 2014 Theme: Understanding the Christian Journey "I have not yet won, but I am still running" Philippians 3.12 Location: Our Lady of Hope Church 591 Brennan Road Dates: Time: Five Saturdays beginning Saturday March 8th 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon Facilitated by: Fr. 5 This week of Lent we are asking for: Canned Meats - tuna, etc. We sincerely thank you and Praise God for your continued generosity... Memorial Easter Flowers There are envelopes available for parishioners who are interested in making a donation to the parish for Easter flowers. We suggest this donation be given in memory of a deceased loved one. The names of loved ones who are being remembered will be mentioned in the Easter bulletin and the 9:30 Easter Sunday Mass will be offered for them. THANK YOU: Once again, we are grateful to the members of the Catholic Women s League, St. Kevin s Site, who provided us with a delicious Soup Supper on Friday past, and led us through the Stations of the Cross devotion afterwards. 6 RECONCILIATION DURING LENT: If you are interested in having your sins forgiven through the Sacrament of Reconciliation during this Season of Lent, you may wish to avail yourself of the various options available in our city. As always, Fr. Michael is available in the Reconciliation Room at our every Saturday morning at 11am until Noon, and at any other time by request. Tuesday, April 1 st at 7pm Holy Redeemer, Sudbury Wednesday, April 2 nd 10:00 Noon, 12:30 3pm Christ the King, Sudbury Thursday, April 3 rd at 7:00pm St. Patrick, Sudbury Wednesday, April 9 th at 7pm St. Bartholomew, Levack VILLA LOYOLA Lenten Taizé Retreat A retreat in the style of Taizé focuses on prayer services using short and simple sung refrains such as "Jesus Remember Me". The refrains are very easy to learn and through repetition they become prayerful and mantra like. The services are punctuated with readings and silence; they take place on Friday evening, Saturday morning, afternoon, and evening, and on Sunday morning. The retreat finishes with Mass before lunch on Sunday. There will be a few brief inputs on the theme of LENT MOVING TO EASTER as well as optional sharing groups. No musical training is required. Busy Bees Ladies, spring is here and the bees are buzzing with enthusiasm. Come and join us at 10:00 am on Wednesdays and enjoy a coffee and fellowship. HOLY HOUR: Following our morning Mass on Friday, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for one hour of adoration and silent prayer, for those who wish to avail themselves of this opportunity.

7 Meatless Soup Supper and Stations of the Cross Friday, April 11th is our final Soup Supper hosted by our St. Kevin s CWL at St. Kevin s Hall Site. Come any time between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. There is no cost- a freewill offering will be accepted, all of which will be given to the poor. Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm in combination with the Stations of the Cross. St. Vincent de Paul Information and Education Night April 8, pm St. Kevin Parish Boardroom This is a training session to find out what we are all about, our history, our mission! We would like everyone to know who we are, what we do and why we do it. All parishioners, from both sites are invited to attend this information evening. Gord Jenkinson EIGHT YEARS OLD THIS YEAR?: If so, and if you wish to begin receiving the gift of God in Holy Communion, registration forms for the preparation for this Sacrament (along with Reconciliation) are available from Fr. Michael following any Parish Mass. Eight years of age is normally considered the minimum age for this program, although Fr. Michael will make exceptions for various reasons, if asked. There is no maximum age, of course. Value of the month for April Stewardship As God s children, we have been given responsibility to care for all God s creation. We must live as stewards of the earth, protecting our environment.
