ROSARY PRAYER GROUP Please join us on Thursday, January 17 at 6:30PM in the St. John s Hospitality Center for an evening of prayer and fellowship. At 6:30PM we will share in a light meal. At 7PM we will pray the rosary. Following the rosary we will have an opportunity for fellowship, witness testimony and prayer. For additional information, please contact Paul Palermo at or John Davis at WOMEN RELIGIOUS IN THE CHURCH St. Vincent's Parish is happy to host Sister Joseph Andrew of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist. She will be speaking here in the church on Monday, January 14 at 7PM. The Dominican Sisters are one of the fastest growing and youngest religious orders in the country. The sisters have been featured recently on Oprah and Good Morning America and have gained great popularity for their angelic music. Sr. Joseph Andrew will speak about her order, women's religious life, and vocations during her talk. All are most welcome and encouraged to attend.

Dear Parishioners, Just a great word of thanks from me and Fr Germán for everyone s overwhelming generosity this Christmas season both to the parish and to us personally. Thanks for the many cards, gifts, baked goods, and kind greetings from so many. As I offered last year, I am available to do epiphany-tide house blessings. This time runs from now until February. 2, which is the feast of the Presentation. The traditional blessing with holy water and blessed chalk takes about 10 minutes in the home. I was happy that many took me up on this offer for a home blessing last year. If interested in having your home blessed feel free to reach out by (pastor@sje-church.org) or phone and we can set a date and time. I am happy to report that our first ever Annual Collection for St. Vincent de Paul Parish was tremendously successful and brought in over $8,000! I had mentioned in the letter I sent out that this money would be used to purchase new exterior doors for the upper church. Our maintenance man, Greg Veins, has been meeting with and getting bids from a couple different door companies and we hope to be able to install the doors very shortly. Additionally, a very generous anonymous donation was given to the parish at the end of last year. This donation will allow us to not only replace the three doors to the upper church but also the two doors going to the lower church. Thank you to all of you who made contributions to the annual collection, the fruit of your donations should be recognized in the coming weeks. To sign up: call ; or online at (the online sign-up code is MERCY) With the increase in hours and the number of adorers, we are fortunate to now have two Adoration Chapel Coordinators. Kathy Davis has graciously accepted to join in supporting and overseeing the smooth running of our Adoration Chapel. Kathy is a frequent adorer and has been part of the chapel since it was located at the former St. Joseph s Church. As always, you can call if you have any questions or concerns about the adoration chapel. The Adoration Chapel will be closed when the Attleboro School Department cancels school due to storm conditions. If it is on a non-school day, call to confirm if it is open. A friendly reminder, no one is to give out the entry code to the Adoration Chapel. (A printable version is also available online.) Sign up at VOCATIONS CRUCIFIX The Vocations Crucifix is located on a table in the alcove of the Holy Spirit Crown. We invite families or individuals to participate in the program. Simply sign out for the crucifix in the notebook provided. Please take the Crucifix home for a week and display it prominently in your home. Next designate a time for family or individual prayer each day. Offer the Vocations Prayer or other prayers, such as the Rosary. Finally, return the Crucifix to the table by 4PM on Saturday so that other parishioners may participate. Según los Hechos de los Apóstoles, familias enteras se bautizaban cuando el padre de familia decidía hacerse cristiano. Esta práctica de bautizar, no solo al nuevo creyente sino también a su mujer y a sus hijos, poco a poco, quedó solo en bautizar los niños del original creyente. El mundo en aquel tiempo estaba basado sobre la familia así como muchas culturas latinas de hoy. El bautizo infantil nació en la Iglesia primitiva y al pasar de los siglos llegó a transformarse en un rito religioso muy importante en la catequesis del nuevo cristiano.
