Their task is to proclaim the good news of salvation, not only to the people of Israel, but to all the nations. God's love and gift of salvation is not just for a few, or for a nation, but it is for the whole world, for all who will accept it. The gospel is the power of God, the power to forgive sins, to heal, to deliver from evil and oppression, and to restore life. Believe in the power of the gospel. Please pass this information along to anyone you know who would regularly attend this special mass. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Beginning this Wednesday, May 0th, and continuing every Wednesday through the summer, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude at Noon each Wednesday. Holy Cross Men s Group Summer Session Join us on May 1st at 7:0 PM, our topic will be; Eucharist: Sacred Meal, Sacrifice, Real Presence Join us as we discover and celebrate what Vatican II called the "source and summit of the Christian life". Bishop Barron offers inspiring insights into the mystery of Christ's presence in our lives and the centrality of the Eucharist as an important part of that presence. This fresh look at the Eucharist brings to light its reality as sacred meal, the sacrifice necessary for communion with God, and the Real Presence of Christ. New members are welcome! Food Drive For St. Anthony s Parish Holy Cross Parish will have a Food Drive on the weekend of June 9/10, for St. Anthony s Parish. Please help by donating non-perishable food, along with personal and household items. Monetary donations are also always appreciated. For those who have fallen and for those who have stood to fight, May God Bless and keep you safe throughout each day and night. Happy Memorial Day Holy Cross Parking Lot Just a reminder, our parking lot is for church and school use only. If in an emergency, you must leave your vehicle in the church lot, permission may be given if asked in a timely way, and contact information is left visible on the dashboard so we can contact you if necessary. Annual Catholic Appeal Through your support of the Annual Catholic Appeal, you partner with the Diocese and your parish to make the corporal works of mercy tangible for people who are most in need through: Diocesan Parish Counseling Services, Parish Emergency Assistance Program, Diocesan Social Service Workshops, Home Health Nursing Program and Emergency Assistance. Please give to the Annual Catholic Appeal.
3 May 7, 018 Page #6 A Message From Bishop O Connell In Monmouth and Ocean counties this Memorial Day Weekend, we are all encouraged to love one another as we celebrate the sacrifices made for our freedoms. At a time when division, polarization and prejudice seem to taint our society anew, we need to look deeply into our hearts again to renew our commitment to the freedoms that are ours to own, and to share together as neighbors. Hatred is the antithesis of our national heritage and our national motto E pluribus, unum... out of many, one. It is also the antithesis of the cause of freedom for which those brave women and men, whose memory we honor this weekend, sacrificed and laid down their lives. Let us pray for peace in our nation and for those brave women and men who gave their lives in service to our country. Thank You From Project Paul Dear Parishioners, Project Paul has been providing food, clothing and homelessness prevention services to the needy in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County for 0 years. At Project Paul, it s about caring for people, one person at a time. Your generous donation of $59 in April 018, along with your donation of food from your food drive, will help people throughout the area. We want to thank you on behalf of the many people that will be helped with this contribution. Sincerely, Sal Cortale, Executive Director Save A Life! Limited quantities of Narcan are available through the church at the Parish Office for a donation. Most Holy Trinity, we adore you and through Mary we implore you, to give all mankind unity in the faith, and courage faithfully to profess it. Amen. Holy Cross Vacation Bible School Join us for; Shipwrecked: Saved by Jesus From August 1th 17th. Your kids will enjoy Bible stories, experiments, games, crafts, snacks and songs. Venture onto an uncharted island where kids survive and thrive. Anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through life s storms. At Shipwrecked, one memorable Bible Point is reinforced throughout each station, each day, making it easy to apply long after VBS is over. For details contact: Mvelcamp@att.net. Remember Holy Cross During the Summer! Before you leave for summer vacation please remember, Holy Cross Church still depends on your support! Holy Cross offers parishioners the opportunity to make Online Church Contributions! Online Contributions are simple, secure and automatic. Log onto click Online Giving in the left toolbar. You will be connected to a secure site where you may enter your information including how much and on what date per month to have funds transferred. Thank you for your support!

Lawnik (Stypa Family) Memorial Votive Candles Holy Cross Memorial Candles burn from Friday to Friday in our Prayer Garden, in front of the Blessed Mother Statue. Your intention is announced at the Saturday 9 AM Mass. Candles and Cards are available at the Parish Office and on our Parish Website. A Memorial Candle donation is $0. Church Security Committee Consider joining our newly forming Church Security Committee which will develop plans and supervise preparedness for emergencies of various types. Individuals with backgrounds in law enforcement, risk management, security, health care and first responders will make particularly valued contributions to our faith community. But security expertise is not necessary, we also need volunteers to monitor our church entrances during services. The Committee will work closely with local and state law enforcement and emergency preparedness teams to ensure that Holy Cross Church has clear communication policies and sensible protocols for emergencies. If you are able to help us, especially if you worship at Holy Cross, please call the Parish Office and express your willingness to serve on this committee. Holy Cross Vocation Chalice The Holy Cross Vocation Chalice is a great opportunity for families to pray together to promote vocations. Just take the chalice home, place it in a prominent place and pray for vocations. Prayers are included with the chalice. Return the chalice after a week for the next family to take home. If your family would be interested in participating, please call the Parish Office, or fill out a form on the parish website.
