Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins immediately following the 9:00 AM Mass on Friday, and continues through Benediction, immediately before the 9:00 AM Mass on Saturday. Confessions will be available on Friday, from 9:30 AM thru 4:00 PM, and 7:30 PM thru 11:00 PM. On Saturday, confessions will be heard from 7:00 AM thru 8:30 AM. We will also pray Stations of the Cross on Friday at 7:00 PM. Adorers are Needed!! Call the Parish Office to sign up for an hour. Scammer Alert For Parishioners The Diocese of Trenton and the Atlantic Highlands Police Department have issued cautions about scammer(s) who are targeting church parishioners using the name of the parish pastor. The seems to come from the pastor and will ask the recipient to purchase gift cards for a worthy purpose. In Atlantic Highlands, the scammer then told the victim to send him the gift card numbers, as the pastor was away from the parish for a while. Last weekend, a member of Holy Cross staff received an purporting to be from me saying that I wanted to reward some children who have been especially good at mass and asking if she could purchase some gift cards. Luckily, she contacted me rather than the "reply to" and we avoided a problem. The scammer used the staff members correct first name, even though this was not obvious from the parish address. The scam has nothing to do with any of the legitimate sources of online donation the parish uses. If there is any question about an received from Holy Cross or one of the staff members, please call us to verify its authenticity, or call the local police if you have been victimized. Several parishes around the diocese have been targeted, as have parishes in Philadelphia. Jesus warned us the children of darkness are crafty and persistent. Help us shine some light on this scam!

2 March 4, 019 Page #63 Unplanned Pro Life Movie Unplanned, the highly anticipated film about the former Planned Parenthood director-turned-pro-lifeactivist, Abby Johnson, will be in theaters beginning March 8. 3 March 4, 019 Page 3 #63 Thank You From Department of Children and Families On behalf of the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Southern Monmouth Local Office, I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the Holy Cross parishioners for their generosity during this Christmas season. With your help we were able to provide gifts to more than 400 children for whom we had planned, and then able to assist many additional families with whom the Division became involved, during the month of December. Many of the parents we work with are unable to purchase gifts on their own, so your donations help to make what can be a difficult holiday season much more cheerful for families throughout our area. This year, with the support of donors like you and many others, we were also able to host Christmas parties for some of the children and their parents in a continued community effort to make this season special. This simple act of giving from you provided emotional strength and bonding between these parents and children and helped to furnish memories of this holiday season that will last long into the future. Once again, thank you from all of us at the Southern Monmouth DCP& P office. Sincerely, Kristen Herzer-Smith Resource Development Specialist Division of Child Protection and Permanency Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Come to church and pray before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist is exposed for adoration at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday s between 9:30 AM and 4 PM and on Thursday s from 6:00-7:00 PM. When you look upon the Sacred Host, you look upon Jesus, the Son of God. AA Meetings We are happy to announce that there is an AA Open Discussion Meeting every Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM, in the St. Joseph Room of Holy Cross Church. Annual Catholic Appeal As members of our diocesan family, we are called upon to love and serve all of our brothers and sisters, both within our Catholic community and beyond. Your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal allows our diocese to continue to serve as a resource to the parishes and other organizations in their efforts to provide service, evangelization and outreach to others. Evangelization - Ministry to Families, Youth and Young Adults Families are the foundation of the Catholic parish. In the midst of the family and the parish community, people encounter Christ and learn to be his disciples. Family and Parish are the primary environments in which evangelization takes place. Together in Mission is a tool to support these evangelization efforts. Your gift promotes individuals and family life. Youth events and service opportunities, young adult gatherings, Marriage prep, Baptismal prep, Ministry to separated and divorced persons are just a few of the services offered. Please give to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Go online to: to make a pledge, payment or outright gift.

Planning Your Catholic Funeral One of the hardest things we have to do is to plan a loved one s funeral. The shock, the sadness of a loved one s death is followed immediately by planning and decisions about the funeral Mass or service. Why not take that burden off of their shoulders by planning your own funeral? What better final gift can you give your loved ones. Father Chuck Schwartz will lead a program on how to plan your funeral so your loved ones don t have to, March 8th, from 5-7 PM, at St. Dorothea s Church, Eatontown. Please call ahead so we can ensure adequate materials,
