And Jesus shows us the way to the Father's glory: follow me, obey my words - take the path I have chosen for you and you will receive the blessings of my Father's kingdom - your name will be written in heaven. Jesus succeeded in his mission because he went to Calvary so that Paradise would be restored to us once again. He embraced the cross to obtain the crown of glory that awaits each one of us, if we will follow in his footsteps. Stations of the Cross Praying the Stations of the Cross helps us reflect on the passion and death of Christ in preparation for Good Friday and the Easter celebration. Join us for Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 7 PM in Holy Cross Church HOURS With The Lord 24 Hours With The Lord Adoration and Reconciliation Holy Cross invites you to join us, and those across the Diocese, for our 24 Hours With The Lord, beginning Friday, March 29th, thru Saturday, March 30. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins immediately following the 9:00 AM Mass on Friday, and continues through Benediction, immediately before the 9:00 AM Mass on Saturday. Confessions will be available on Friday, from 9:30 AM thru 4:00 PM, and 7:30 PM thru 11:00 PM. On Saturday, confessions will be heard from 7:00 AM thru 8:30 AM. We will also pray Stations of the Cross on Friday at 7:00 PM Adorers are Needed!! Call the Parish Office to sign up for an hour.

2 March 17, 2019 Page 2 #623 Unplanned Pro Life Movie Preview Unplanned, the highly anticipated film about the former Planned Parenthood director-turned-pro-lifeactivist, Abby Johnson, will be in theaters beginning March 29. The film was produced by Pure Flix, whose past films like God is Not Dead and The Case for Christ were wildly popular among the company s primary audience: families with children. This film, rated R for depicting the violence of abortion, is appropriate for teens accompanied by a parent or guardian. The filmmakers have faced many challenges in bringing Abby s story the big screen. They have created a 30-minute documentary about the making of the film. The Knights of Columbus Council #3187 will present a preview of the documentary on Monday, March 18, at 8:00 PM, at K of C Hall, 200 Fair Haven Road in Fair Haven. All are invited and welcome to attend and learn more about the film. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact the Parish Office. Holy Cross School Open House Holy Cross School will host an Open House for prospective students and their families, Pre-K through Grade 8, on Friday, March 22nd, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. If your child has a summer birthday, takes longer to complete assignments, has difficulty maintaining focus, or struggles with fine motor skills, you may be interested in Transitional First Grade, or T-1. T-1 is a step between Kindergarten and First Grade, which provides the extra time some students need to be fully ready for First Grade, if they have not mastered essential concepts during Kindergarten. Our T1 classroom will foster confidence and self-esteem through individual instruction focused on reinforcement of math and reading concepts, fine motor skills, and listening skills. Your intention is announced at the Saturday 9 AM Mass. Candles and Cards are available at the Parish Office and on our Parish Website. A Memorial Candle donation is $20. Holy Cross Men s Group The Holy Cross Men's Group provides opportunities for spiritual and personal growth, service and outreach to the Holy Cross Parish Community, and social interaction for adult men of the parish. The group meets on Thursday evenings, in the St. Joseph Meeting Room. New Members are welcome! Join us on Thursday, March 21st, at 7:30 PM. Holy Cross Scholarship Attention High School Seniors! The Holy Cross Scholarship Committee is pleased to invite you to apply for a scholarship. This is for high school seniors whose families are registered at Holy Cross, and who intends to pursue post-secondary education. The primary criteria for eligibility are Mass attendance and the extent of service performed for the Holy Cross Parish Community, between Confirmation and High School graduation. The objective is to affirm those outstanding secondary students who have demonstrated an understanding of their Baptismal call to share in Jesus Christ s Mission through service to others in the church community. The shock, the sadness of a loved one s death is followed immediately by planning and decisions about the funeral Mass or service. Why not take that burden off of their shoulders by planning your own funeral? What better final gift can you give your loved ones. Father Chuck Schwartz will lead a program on how to plan your funeral so your loved ones don t have to, March 28 from 5-7 PM at St. Dorothea s Church, Eatontown.
