Weather Alert: If schools in East Providence are DELAYED or CLOSED, due to inclement weather, weekday Mass that day is cancelled for public safety. Cold and Flu Season: As we enter the cold and flu season, this seems an appropriate time to suspend the reception of the chalice at Mass If you have a bad cold or flu, you are dispensed from the Sunday Mass obligation. Also, at the Sign of Peace, simply acknowledge your fellow parishioners with a friendly nod or gesture. Hand disinfectant is available at all the doors of the Church. Eucharistic Gifts If you schedule a weekend Mass and would like to bring the gifts up to the altar, please speak to the sacristan or one of the ushers as you enter the church.

3 Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time St. Margaret Parish Ministries Faith Formation Information Grades 1-6 and 7-8 Faith Formation Classes meet Sunday mornings 8:30-9:45 AM Grades 1-8 Class: February 4, 11, 25 First Penance Gr. 2: Monday, February 5, 6:00 PM Our Grade 2 students preparing for First Communion in May will celebrate the Sacrament of Penance on Monday, Feb. 5th at 6:00 in the Church. Msgr. Darcy will be joined by three other priests to hear the confessions of our 41 students. Parents are strongly encouraged to be an example for the child at this time by availing themselves also of this family opportunity to celebrate God s forgiveness. Confirmation I Sessions: Please pick up schedule for the spring session. Copies are available for students near the sign in book at church. 5 January 28, 2018 The Pastor s Corner This week we celebrate Catholic School Week. We support and encourage the ministry of our primary ministry, St. Margaret School. Together with our Principal, Mrs. Nunes, our wonderful teachers, and our fantastic students, we invite families and friends to visit and consider our school as an option in our community. Our students are exceptionally educated, spiritually enriched, and socially prepared for the challenges of high school. Here s some of the week s schedule for the school: Sunday Monday Tuesday Thursday OPEN HOUSE, 10am Noon DROP IN DAY, 10am - Noon GRANDPARENT S DAY MASS, 9am DROP IN DAY, 10 am Noon CONCERT, Ryan Tremblay 1:15 PM In the church Ryan is a Catholic Evangelist and talented musician, who will be singing here on Thursday a 1:15 pm on Thursday. He has sung at World Youth Day. As taken from his web site When Ryan Tremblay starts singing, or picks up a guitar, or gets anywhere near a set of drums, people stop and listen. It's been that way since he was a little boy, and now the 28-year-old musician has tied his gifts to a Powerful purpose: to share his love for Jesus Christ, for the church, and for the beauty of creation. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR THIS MUSICAL PRESENTATION! The Gospel of Mark relates the public ministry of Jesus. It begins with a healing in the synagogue in Capernaum (see our website for a picture of the synagogue). They received his message because he spoke with authority; clearly and direct. As I mentioned last week, our words and actions are noticed, and hopefully, exemplary. We just may be that faithful follower who brings someone to Christ. Discipleship is alive and continues in our parish. Invite someone to come with you to Mass any weekend. The sanctuary is morphing back to Ordinary Time.
