3 FROM THE EAST My Brothers, Thank you for your confidence and electing me as the 49th Worshipful Master of Cape Coral No.367. It is a great honor and privilege to be bestowed onto me. I will do my best to sever my home as your Worshipful Master for the year of To our Junior Past Master W Peacock, it was an honor serving the as Senior Warden during your year in the East. You left some big shoes to fill, and I will continue your legacy of better improving our. To my Brothers, during the Revolutionary War, it was Ill Bro Benjamin Franklin who said, We must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately. My Brothers this is my fifth year within the organization I ask myself, What does it mean to be a Freemason today? I look around the world we live today and see us divided by unnecessary nonsense which we have allowed to influence us and rust out the chain of Brotherhood and get in the way of our egos and more especially our Historic purpose. I am asking you as YOUR Worshipful Master to become a pioneer on this renewal as we shall continue paving the path to greatness. Wisdom dwells with contemplation; therefore, we should seek it. Let us then, Brethren, apply ourselves with becoming zeal to the practice of the excellent principles inculcated by our Order. Let us ever remember that the great objects of our association are the restraint of improper desires and passions, the cultivation of an active benevolence and the promotion of a correct knowledge of the duties we owe to God, our neighbor and to ourselves. Let us be united, and practice with diligence the sacred tenets of our Order. Let all private animosities, if any unhappily exist, give place to affection and brotherly love. It is a useless parade to talk of the subjection of irregular passions within the walls of the if we permit them to triumph in our intercourse with each other. Uniting in the grand design, let us be happy ourselves, and endeavor to promote the happiness of others. Let us cultivate the great moral virtues which are laid down on our Masonic Trestleboard, and improve in everything that is good, amiable and useful. Let the benign Genius of the Mystic Art preside over our councils and under her sway let us act with a dignity becoming the high moral character of our venerable Fraternity." The right way to think about life is to see the world through the eyes with wisdom and compassion. Right Thought. We are what we think. Clear and kind thoughts build good, strong characters. Right Speech. By speaking kind and helpful words, we are respected and trusted by everyone. Right Conduct. No matter what we say, others know us from the way we behave. Before we criticize others, we should first see what we do ourselves. Right Livelihood. This means choosing a job that does not hurt others. "Do not earn your living by harming others. Do not seek happiness by making others unhappy." Right Effort. A worthwhile life means doing our best at all times and having good will toward others. This also means not wasting effort on things that harm ourselves and others. Right Mindfulness. This means being aware of our thoughts, words, and deeds. Right Concentration. Focus on one thought or object at a time. By doing this, we can be quiet and attain true peace of mind.
