2 Affirming the Positive Praise the Lord, the Industrial location has sold. As the Lord did with Lazarus, He showed up 4 days late by our standards, yet right on time by His. The Lord has blessed us with the right volunteers at the right time for our renovations. As we see the end of Phase 2 in sight, the sale of the old property is a welcomed blessing in looking ahead at completing the remaining phases. This is a great help in dealing with the inbetweens I mentioned last month. Here are other encouraging signs that suggest we are closer to being the local missions network we feel called to be: 1) Greater ease in delegating the administrative aspects of the association. 2) Increasing accounts of pastors/staff fellowshipping with other. 3) Introduction of the constitution/bylaw review process to insure that our practices feed into our vision. 4) Plans for a pole barn to house some of the DR assets in our area. 5) Beginning of preparations for launching a renewal process in 2019 for churches who are plateaued or declining. 6) Continued recognition for the need for local mission enterprises like ours. And the list goes on. I am convinced we have the right dots for local missions, we need to keep connecting them. Thank you for allowing us to come along side you in that journey. In Christ, Troy
3 VOLUNTEER IN MISSIONS JENNIE LONDON Volunteer Mission Vision The Baptist Center Clothing Give Away, Thursday, October 18. Volunteers are needed, both men and women, to help set up at 8:00 a.m. and assist clients from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Men are especially needed to help set up tables, racks and canopies in the early morning, and again around 1:00 p.m., to take down and return them to the storage area. Volunteers bring a covered dish to provide lunch and snacks for our workers. In the event of rain, this will be rescheduled for the next Thursday, the 25 th. Volunteers are also needed to assist each Tuesday morning in the clothing room. For more information on either of these needs, please phone Ms. Patty Brown or Ms. Lewellyn Denmark at Florida Baptist Disaster Relief What a difference a month made! While August was very quiet, September was a very active month for the tropics. Of course, the main event was Hurricane Florence. Although it made landfall on Sept. 14, its impact is far from over. As this is being written, some rivers are still a few days away from cresting. Massive flooding has affected NC, with some also in SC. Plus, a number of very large and old trees were downed, due to both wind and rain. On Sept. 18, FLBDR headed for Western Prong Baptist Church, in Whiteville, NC, with a Task Force Team consisting of a Feeding Unit, Command Center, and Shower Unit. If you would like to see a video of the team at Lake Yale and leaving for NC, you may go to: Clean Up & Recovery Teams left for NC a few days later. This response will probably last a few weeks, as we must wait for the water to go down before mud out can begin. Teams are currently doing some chainsaw work. If you are a trained volunteer and are asked to serve, please do so, if at all possible. If your church would like to send a team of untrained volunteers to help with the cleanup, pleases go to for more information. The teams who served earlier in PA reported one profession of faith as a result of their service and witness. So far, there has also been one profession of faith reported from NC. We pray there will be many more. NC also assisted Florida last year, when Irma struck our state. In HIS Service Jennie or vim.nwca@juno.com
4 The seasons are changing, but God s promises are the same! We are so thankful for how we see Him at work every day and how faithful He is. We currently have 21 families in our two areas serving 28 children. Twentyeight souls who are learning about Jesus and what loving, healthy families look like. As always, we are continually seeking more families to share in this ministry. Right now we are working with close to twenty new homes!! We appreciate your prayers for these families to remain strong in the calling God has given them to do this and for the licensing process to go as smoothly as possible. Here are some things we have going on: Diaper Drive It s not too late to be a part! If your church, business, or other organization would like to help us collect diapers for our foster families we will be happy to have them! The goal this year is 800,000 diapers and we want our area to be a leader in contributing to that goal. Volunteers are needed! We were so blessed when First Baptist Houston came and bought plastic containers for our clothes and sorted our donations for us. As we continue to receive donations we would love to have some volunteers who could come once or twice a month to sort and organize new donations. We would also love to have some Diaper Fairies who would be willing to deliver diapers and wipes to our foster families. If you would be interested, please let us know! We currently have QPT (Quality Parenting Training) classes happening in Panama City and Chipley. We are so excited about the families in these classes. A big thank you to Emerald Coast Fellowship for hosting our class here. If you would like to receive information about upcoming trainings, please us at fostercare@onemorechild.org. We cannot thank everyone enough for the support that is given to our ministry! God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. ~Hebrews 6:10 Blessings, EMILY FIDLER Senior Licensing Specialist C: MICHELLE STRATTONFREEMAN Licensing Specialist O: F:
