2 INSTRUCTIONS 1. Circle your category(ies) of performance immediately! If you have time conflicts, get a conflict slip at the registration desk and take or send it to the judge of the category which you cannot meet at the scheduled time. Go to the missed performance as soon as possible after your scheduled time. Failure to appear at the scheduled time will result in disqualification if advance notice of conflict is not given to the judge. If schedule conflicts, the individual or smaller group always gives way to the larger group. 2. Do not enter or leave rooms during performances. Be considerate of performers by not peering through windows and doors during performances. Be quiet in hallways and outside buildings during performances. 3. Limit use of warm-up rooms to 5 minutes. Warm up in warmup rooms only or outside if you are well away from the buildings. 4. No substitutes are allowed in any events. School sponsors should use drop slips to inform the appropriate judges of any drops immediately after the opening assembly. 5. Do not take food or drinks out of the lunchroom or concession areas. Use trash disposals. We want to be a good testimony. 6. Try to be in your performance area ahead of time in case the schedule moves faster than anticipated. 7. Music and speech performers be sure to pick up your music or manuscript from the judges after you have finished performing. 8. Parents, teachers, and students are not to talk to the judges after performances. If you have a question or problem, see the GACS coordinator for that area of performance. 9. No pictures are to be taken during competition performances. This is very distracting. Please show consideration for others. Pictures may be taken during the closing program. 10. Turn off cell phones and beepers during performances, please. 11. Individual performers should announce their name, school, selection and composer (for music). The coordinator or a school sponsor will announce large group performances. 12. When art judging is completed, the room(s) will be opened for viewing. The entries may then be viewed, but no entries are to be touched. Art projects should not be moved until 4:00 PM, when sponsors from each school may pick them up.
