1 Crossroads PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IN WORD AND DEED From the Pastor s Pen, I m sure you ve probably heard the phrase April Showers Bring May Flowers. (I feel as though I m doing a lot with weather related metaphor lately.) As I reflected on this saying I couldn t help but think on all the storms that we go through in our lives. I recently completed some training in Mental Health First Aid. One of the presenters had a personal story for nearly every type of mental illness that we discussed. She had certainly been through quite a number of storms in her own life or had walked with family and friends through their own storms. At one point she did have to laugh about all that she had experienced. She said she felt that God had allowed her to go through these storms so that she could bless others and advocate for them because of her experiences, knowledge and information. I don t want to be trite about difficult circumstances or struggles that we all go through at different times. However it is my prayer that eventually through our faith, relationship with God, and the body of Christ, we can allow those challenging times in our lives to be redeemed so that we might bless others and let them know they are not alone. As the body of Christ may we be a beautiful bouquet of what God has seen us through and of what God is continuing to do in our lives together as the community of faith. Blessings, Pastor Brandy Somerset Church of the Brethren In This Issue The Roving Reporter We switched it up from the Focus on the Flock this month, check out Dave s report!
