2 Welcome to the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run We are delighted that you have joined us for worship and want you to feel at home in this community of faith. Please join us after the service for a time of coffee and fellowship downstairs in Hoopes Hall. Church members will be happy to guide you. In the narthex (foyer) is a welcome packet for your family. Please take one before you leave and join us for this morning s activities. Prayer Cards are in each pew. Please feel free to write your requests on them and place them in the offering plate during the offertory. If you would like a call from the pastor, please note that on the card. Please sign the fellowship pad in your pew. Guests are encouraged to include their address and other information they may wish to share. Pass the pad to others in your row and get to know them. Nursery is available during the worship service for children through age 2. The nursery is the first door after going downstairs from the foyer. Children leave for a summer program after the Time for Children. They can be picked up downstairs in the nursery area after the service. Large print bulletins are available. Just ask an usher. Hearing assistance - five sound enhancement units are available in the narthex. An elevator is located outside the door on the left at the front of the sanctuary. Restrooms are located off the foyer. *All who are able may stand.

9 ANNOUNCEMENTS COMMUNITY LIFE Welcome The Rev. Pauline Sexton is our guest preacher this morning. She is Honorably Retired from the Presbytery of Philadelphia after 17 years serving as an Interim Pastor, and Chaplain, Director of Pastoral Care at Doylestown Hospital. Pauline currently works part-time as the Spiritual Care Coordinator at Foulkeways Retirement Community in Gwynedd, PA and continues to serve the Church through pulpit supply, teaching Bible studies, leading discussion groups, and retreats. Pauline was raised in Philadelphia, graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Eastern University and Princeton Theological Seminary. She currently lives in Bucks County with her husband John. She has 3 grown children and two grandchildren. Celebrate with Pies and Ties Please join us after the service today, Father s Day, to honor the many special men in our lives. There will be several different kinds of homemade pies to enjoy! Newsletter Deadline The deadline for the July issue of the Deep Runner is today. Copy may be ed to the church office (office@pcdeeprun.org) or placed in the newsletter mailbox in the Communications Room. Community Dinner Tomorrow It s our 6-year anniversary barbecue but we still need volunteers to bring grills and to do the grilling. We will serve barbecue style foods, but cook them in the kitchen if no one volunteers. We re asking the congregation to donate side salads for the meal. It would be helpful if you can make a salad to please text me at a note with what you will make, so we can keep track. You can or call also. 10 Summer Office Hours Beginning June 18 th, the church office hours will be: Monday - Thursday 9 AM to 2 PM and Friday from 9 AM until 12 Noon. Hours may vary when Bess is on vacation. Security Issues Please keep the office informed of any meetings to be held here in the building. If your committee/team meets regularly, please notify the office of any change in your schedule. If your meeting is not on the calendar and cars appear in the parking lot, this becomes a security issue. If you come to the church during normal office hours, please let the office know you are in the building. We may institute a sign-in procedure at a later time. All those coming to the church not on nursery school business, please come to the church office so the nursery school staff doesn t have to interrupt their class to correctly identify you and let you in the building. Flower Sponsors Sign up downstairs on the bulletin board if you would like to celebrate an event or remember someone special by sponsoring flowers for worship. Name Tags Each Sunday, please remember to wear your name tag, which is provided in the narthex. If you notice you do not have one or have misplaced yours, please contact Erin Reichert or the church office. Thanks! MISSION & SERVICE Fish Updates For June, July and August, we will be focusing on items for the Summer Lunch Program for school-aged kids. CHILDREN S & YOUTH MINISTRY Vacation Bible School: July (9AM to Noon) This year VBS will be hosted at St. Matthew s Lutheran Church located at the corner of Keller s Church and Ridge Roads. As we ve done each year with our partnership, each church divides the tasks to be accomplished. We are in need of volunteers interested in assisting with crafts, recreation, being guides for each group, and helping with nursery care.
