8 Community Outreach Ministry This year instead of our mission of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes we will be supporting locally the Bethany Children s home; we have received their Christmas wish list. A complete list is available in the newsletter and in the Narthex. Individual wish item can be found on tags on the wall in the Narthex. Please return all new unwrapped items by December 3 to the marked boxed in the Narthex. Grocery Cards Don t forget grocery cards for Giant, Redner s and Weis Markets are available for purchase. They may be used towards groceries, gas and pharmacy purchases and make terrific gifts! We receive 5% for every card you purchase which will be used to support our Church Missions program. See Connie Hile to purchase your cards today! Blue Mountain Candles The women s Guild is selling candles now through Nov. 26 th. 24 oz. candle $15 each (all candles have 2 wicks) or $5 a set of 6, 3oz. wax melt cubes. See: Mayetta, Eileen, Clara, Megyn, Dorothy, Gloria, Mary Jane, Linda, Teresa, Kristin, Pastor Mary Nancy or Marie. Aluminum Can Collection The youth group continues to collect and recycle aluminum cans. You can put your bags of cans through the side window of the barn at the church that is facing the road any time you have a full bag. We use the money to support our many activities and also to help sponsor a child in the Philippines. Joyful Noise Offering The joyful noise offering will be collected next Sunday. Be sure to bring your change so the kids can make a joyful noise throughout the church. Christmas Poinsettias We will be accepting orders for Christmas Poinsettias until November 26. Social Media Manager The church is currently looking for a volunteer/intern position to manage the church s website, Facebook page, the TV in the Nave and weekly EBlast! If you are interested in this position, please contact Jill, Church Secretary, at Fundraiser Contact our Sexton, Charles Anhalt, for discounted inhouse tile and carpet cleaning. 20% of all income received will be donated in your name to St. Joseph;s Hill Church or St. John Church. Please support Charles and his good works. Thank Offering Service The women of WELCA will hold their Thank Offering Service on November 19 th. All women are invited to join with the Sr. Choir to sing the anthem. Rehearsal following the 10:00 AM service. Christmas Candy Making Time WELCA will again be making Christmas candy on the following dates: Friday November 17 (4 pm to?) Saturday November 18 (8 am to?) Friday December 8 (4 pm to?) if needed Saturday December 9 (8 am to?) if needed Candy to be made includes: Peanut Butter Balls, Butter Cream, Mint, Peanut Clusters and Pretzel Candy. Cost will be: $10.00 per pound and $6.00 per half pound for chocolates and $6.00 per box and $3.00 per bag of pretzel candy. Help will be needed, so mark your calendars. 11 Thanksgiving grocery shopping We ve accomplished what we set out to do! Thrivent funds have been received and we have enough funds to provide a fresh Thanksgiving Dinner to 10 local families. If you wish to help shop or have already signed up to food shop, tee shirts are available as well as youth sizes. Shopping day is Sunday, November 19th at 2:00 PM. A big thank you to the congregation for your donations! Discount business cards Please help support the Youth Group as they secure funds to pay for their trip to the National Youth Gathering in Houston in Cards are on sale for $10 and offer discounts to various local businesses through Sept. 2018: Cards available today. Please see an Usher or Esther & Don Hendricks. Angel tree warm clothing project The warm clothing project for Boyertown Multi-Service will start on November 19 th. The angel tree will be set up and will be filled with angel tags for you to pick. Purchase a warm clothing item for a boy or girl from infant to age 18. Bring the item & tag back to church no later than December 10 th and place under the tree, unwrapped. All items will be delivered to Boyertown Multi-Service. Thank you for your gifts. College care packages Please donate single serve snacks and drink mixes for the following items: granola bars, crackers, cookies, popcorn, slim jims and gum. We will be collecting during the month of November. A donation for postage is greatly appreciated. Please contact Linda Kowalski with any questions. Cemetery Board Meeting On November 21st, the Board will meet at St. Joseph s Hill Church at 7:30 PM. Youth Group Our Youth Leader, Kristina Gabel, holds meet ups, bible studies, holiday parties, and much more. The Youth is planning a trip to Houston Texas for the National Youth Gathering.
