The accdent happened at Long Branch, near Hollyood, The men ho ere klled ere Arthur E. Chandler and James Seeney. Both men lved at Long Brunch. Chandler as the road master of the ralroad and had lved at Long Branch a year. He superntended the constructon of the road. Ho as n bachelor and prevous to movng to Long Branch He had lved at Brooklyn, Seeney as the foreman of the constructon gang. Up to a fe eeke ago he as the flagman at one of the crossngs of the Ne ork and Long Branch ralroad. He as a marred man and leaves a do and seven chldren. At tho tme of the accdent the to men ere engaged n cartng refuse from the track near Hollyood. They had hauled aay one load and ere returnng for the second load hen they ere klled. The Long Branch and Asbury Park road has a double track and the men ere drvng the agon beteen the tracks hen the trolley car came up. Seeng that they dd not move he pushed the brake don hard, but not hard enough to stop the car before reachng them. As the car neared the agon the horses gave a jump and thre the men don. The jump the horses made carred the men over on the track and they fell drectly under the car. They ere jammed under the forard truck of the car and ere nstantly klled. They ere held so frmly under the car that machnery had to be sent fortolft the car before the bodes could be taken out. Chandler's skull as cut open, and the to parts ere spread apart nearly an nch. One leg as broken and the body as covered th cuts and bruses. Seeney's face as cut from top to bottom, one ear as cut nearly off, and the body as crushed and brused. The tracks and ground here the accdent occurred ere spattered th blood. The motorman and conductor of the car ere arrested but ere mmedately released on ther on recognzances. The conductor of the car as Wllam Thompson. The nquest s beng held to-day. Wtnesses to the accdent say that the tran men ere not to blame, and that the men ho ere klled ere foolhardy to drve beteen the tracks, here there as barely room for the cars to pass thout strkng them. Wllam Gessler. of Red Bank, ho as arrested last eek for embezzlng money from hs employers, Robnson & Craford, the propretors of the Enterprze meat market, aved ndctment at Freehold on Thursday and pleaded gulty. A couple of eeks ago a party of Spanards from Ne ork came don and set up ther tents n the oods a jhoct,, dstance-- froa.the-shore,. A party of gypses also chose that place for makng "a rest. The gypses had a very large gypsy agon, hch as ftted up to lve n, but they also had tents, and most of the tme they occuped the tents nstead of the agon. The Spansh campng party and the gypses ere not objectonable resdents. They bought ther supples at the stores n the neghborhood and lved quetly n the oods, keepng by themselves as much as possble. But hen complant as made aganst Mosher and hs mother t as decded to make all of the others move. The gypses and campers moved the next day after beng notfed. SAVED A BO'S LFE, lenru Chadreh BeHvueH Henru Off't'M front nroenng. Henry Chadck of Red Bank saved the lfe of Henry Oens, son of Dr. Oens of Oceanc, last Thursday. Mr. Chadck as near the harf n.hs boat hen the boy came don on the dock at the foot of Blss's property. Ha got on Chadck's bout, but after a lttle hle he as put on the float. From there he probably ent on a roboat and fell overboard, Mr. Chadck dd not see the boy fa!!, but he dd see hs cap floatng on the ater and on lookng for the boy, sa the body on the bottom, near the harf, n ater about nne feet deep. He made a dve and got the boy at the frst attempt. The boy as taken out of the ater unconscous. He as brought back to lfe after ten mnutes' hard ork. On Saturday Mr, Chadck receved a check for #100 from Dr. Oen.» Lo PPCBB for Turnps. Farmers are gettng lo prces for ther produce. Albert Morford sent SS barrels of turnps to the Ne ork market last eek, for hch he receved an average of 75 cents per barrel. He pad fourteen cents apece for the empty barrels, the freght and cartage as tenty cents per barrel, and the commsson fur sellng as ten per cent. Ths amounted to 1 cents per barrel for the expense of marketng alone, or more than half the total prce receved for the produce. Out of the 83 cents per barrel"remanng Mr, Morford had to pay for the labor of rasng the turnps, the fertlzer bll and the expense of haulng to the staton.
