1 Shady Grove UMC December 2018 Pursue God Build Community Release Compassion Friends, December. Wow. This year has truly flown by! It's not possible that Christmas will be here in less than four weeks. Christmas will be here in less than four weeks! That means we have to get the tree put up and the lights on the porch and the family schedules coordinated and recover from Black Friday and figure out what to get Aunt Eunice -- she's impossible to buy for -- and figure out where all the cousins will sleep when they spend the night and wrap the presents and don't miss the cantata and the kids' programs at school and don't blow the diet over Christmas and...and...and...the list seems endless. Given the pace of the Christmas season, there is a risk that we get lost in the hustle and fail to remember why this is such a big deal. The human race changed forever in that stable in Bethlehem. How did things change? How is life different now than it would have been without that first Christmas? We're going to dig deeply into the Christmas story this year to answer the question "What's The Big Deal?" See you on December 2nd as we start the series... Peace, Tom 167 Shady Grove Church Road Winston Salem NC
