INSTRUCTIONS TO PASTORS AND STUDENTS Eligibility The District Board of Ministry serves only the persons who are properly enrolled. Enrollment is open to members of churches on the Hawaii-Pacific District who feel called of God to Special Ministries. They must be recommended by the pastor and church board of the church to which they belong. Courses The District Board of Ministry oversees the preparation of both Elder and Deacon candidates. Ministers will not be ordained without having completed their respective courses. Modes of Study The recommended mode of preparation for full time Christian services is by attending: a Nazarene liberal arts college or university or Nazarene Bible College, and if possible, the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, or the Asian-Pacific Theological Seminary in Manila, Philippines, or the Module Plus Program.

50 The courses required of the ministerial students are listed 46 in the Sourcebook for Ministerial Development. This is found online at: Options for Module Plus Program 1. Each candidate is instructed to purchase or download a Sourcebook for Ministerial Development in order to become familiar with the details of the entire program. Two Options are available to the ministerial candidate: Option 1 online Nazarene Bible College or Northwest Nazarene University, or others as may come available and approved by the District Board of Ministry.
