Our weapons are not of this world, they are weapons of the Kingdom of Christ that demolish strongholds. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul gives us good direction in this battle. If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose Philippians 2 : 1 2. Let s make sure we are doing our part to keep unity in our church. Allow your pastor to lead you to greater heights spiritually. Be an encourager filled with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Develop friendships with new people with the intent of bringing them to faith in Jesus Christ. Today God is with His church and HE will do amazing things if we passionately protect our unity, love God with all our hearts, love each other, and truly love our community. God has blessed the Illinois District with amazing Pastors. Our Illinois Pastors love their churches and have made great sacrifices to fulfill the call God has put on their hearts. And they have been CALLED and CHOSEN by God for this ministry! They pray for their church family, give of their time, and do everything they can to see God work in the lives of those they serve and to see the church move forward. In this day of intense spiritual warfare our Illinois pastors are on the front lines at my request. They are praying, seeking God, fasting, staying in HIS Word and preaching and teaching truth so the church can move forward. October was set aside years ago to intentionally honor our pastors. Make sure your church board is doing something special to honor, encourage, and lift up your pastor(s). As we continue to move forward taking territory from Satan and his forces allow your pastor(s) to know that he/she is loved, supported, empowered in leadership, and has a great team who will help take back this territory. Go overboard this October to show your pastor how much he/she is appreciated. God will bless you and the church will continue marching forward.
