1 F U L T O N C O U N T Y H I S T O R I C A L S O C I E T Y FULTON COUNTY PIONEER Volume XXII., No. 1. Friends and members, As we thaw from a record breaking February, an exciting spring season begins for local history in Fulton County. The county and state are working out the details of contracts and architects for the new building, so we are not quite ready to seek bids or break ground this spring. Being that we are the first county in Ohio to try this cooperative effort, we all need to be patient great things come to those who wait! On the Capital Improvement fundraising efforts, we have received over $94, in 5 months. These gifts have been at the room naming level, one of our three Donor Circle levels, tile purchases for our donor wall mural, and purchases of Bob Krumm s new book on the history of Wauseon. We still have a long way to go, so if you haven t given yet, please do. Every amount counts toward our new goal of $905, Feel free to speak with me about the project at one of our upcoming events: our Chicken Dinner at the Sportsman s Club and at the museum opening on April 12, our Civil War Tea on May 16, the Downtown Wauseon Strawberry Festival on June 20, or at the Thresher s Convention. Carl Buehrer, President From the President Charles Handy of the 67th OVI is with George Custer and Ulysses Grant in the Appomattox Campaign and witnesses Lee s surrender.
