NEW ADDITIONS TO OUR CHILDREN'S LIBRARY A portion of the funds collected in memory of Rabbi Brickman's father, Maurice Brickman have been used to enhance our children's library. Among the subjects covered in these new books are Shabbat, Jewish holidays, Israel and the Bible. We hope that our students and their parents will stop by and take a look at all of the books in our children's library. You may borrow the books and take them home to read. There will be a sign out sheet in the library, where we will ask you to print your name and list the books you have borrowed. Our children's library works on the honor system, so we will ask you to return the books to the library after a reasonable period of time so that others may enjoy them. Among the new books is the awardwinning book, "Putting God on the Guest list: How to reclaim the Spiritual meaning of Your Child's Bar o r Bat Mitzvah," written by Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin. This wonderful book is meant to be read by parents of young people who are about to become Bar or Bat Mitzvah, who are looking for inspiration and meaning in their upcoming simcha. There is also a companion volume entitled, "For Kids - Putting God on Your Guest List: How to reclaim the Spiritual Meaning of Your Bar or Bat Mitzvah." The companion volume is for the young person who is preparing for this special day. We encourage all of the children in our school who will s oon become Bar/Bat Mitzvah to read this book, and we hope that their parents will read it along with them. In future issues of the "Temple Bulletin," we will highlight other new books that have been added to our children's library..... * * *..

5 NOTICE TO RELIGIOUS SCHOOL PARENTS Classes will not be held on the following days: Sundays, December 24 & 31 Thursday, December 28. We hope you enjoy your winter break, and we look forward to seeing you back in school in 2001! 13 th Annual Florida Reunion The Temple will sponsor our 13 th Annual Jersey City Reunion in Florida this coming February. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at 12 noon at David's in Tamarac. The cost is $22.00 per person. If you have never attended the reunion before, join us this year for the celebration of our Bar Mitzvah Reunion. You may not get a fountain pen, but we are certain you will have a great time and meet many fiiends, some of whom you may not have seen In years. If your name is not on the reunion mailing list and you would '" li~e to receive an invitation, please call the Temple office. MEALS ON WHEELS VOLUNTEERS Now that winter has arrived, many of the volunteers who deliver meals on behalf of the Jewish Family & Counseling Service Kosher Meals on Wheels Program have gone south. In order to be able to continue to deliver meals on a daily basis we need additional volunteers, including both drivers and "schleppers," who carry the meal to the recipient's door. The time commitment is minimal, but the reward is great. If you are available every week, that is terrific. However, even if you are available only on an occasional basis, let us know, and we will work you into the schedule. If you want to perform, this "mitzvah," or would like more information, speak to Rabbi Brickman or to Lisa Shuchman, our volunteer "Meals on Wheels." coordinator.
