Daf Yomi is a daily regimen of Talmud study. The entire Talmud is completed, one day at a time, in seven and a half years. Tens of thousands of Jews worldwide study in the Daf Yomi program. The class will take place in the Library. Before Maariv, Sunday through Thursday. Sunday 9:00 am-10:00 am: with David Davies. A course developed by the National Jewish Outreach Program geared to those with a basic knowledge of the Hebrew Alphabet who wish to improve their reading skills and comprehension. There is no charge for this class. It takes place in the conference room at UOS next to the main synagogue office. Mondays and Wednesdays immediately following breakfast: with Rabbi Barry Gelman Lessons in Halacha. Mondays 11:15 am-1:15 pm: Women s only Israeli Dancing Beginner thru advanced telling the story of the Jewish People and Israel today thru Dance. Cost $6/session. 4 Everyone at Camp Young Judaea-Texas is saddened by the devastation that theflood has brought to our community. We would like to help by giving children whose houses flooded the opportunity to be a part of a fun camp environment this summer. As long as spots are available, we would love to have your children join us for a three-week session this summer at a discounted rate. Instead of the full $3,600 tuition, you would pay $1,100 (CYJ and the BJE will each provide a $750 scholarship, and CYJ will comp an additional $1,000). We will also work with you to cover the remaining $1,100 so that every child has an opportunity to go to camp. Camp Young Judaea is a great place to spend the summer. We provide a Jewish summer experience for children from all backgrounds: Reconstructionist, Reform, Conservative, Traditional, Orthodox, and any Jewish child who wants to enjoy the camp experience. We provide a Shabbat-friendly, kosher environment where our campers strengthen their connection to Israel. From singing to swimming, hiking to hanging out, there is something for everyone at CYJ. Session 1 begins on June 14th and Session 2 begins on July 12th, so please respond quickly if you are interested or have questions. We hope that we can bring a little relief to parents and children as families continue to deal with the aftermath of the flooding.
