4 A Note From The Ritual Committee There is a wonderful sponsorship opportunity available. A new set of the Jerusalem Talmud is being translated by Artscroll with 29 volumes produced to date. Once again, hundreds of people from the greater Houston Jewish community are expected to join the 7th Annual Friendship Circle Walk on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2pm. And you too can be a part of a local Jewish cause that simply touches the heart, by joining the youth and adults from across Houston who will walk for The Friendship Circle. The Walk, produced cooperatively by the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and Jewish Family Service, will leave the J.F.S. and make its way to the Beth Yeshurun Pulaski Rauch Auditorium for an indoor Friendship Fair, filled with rides, food, fun times, and a performance by AcroDunk. The Fair is from 3-5pm. Let the children and adults with special needs, their families, and all the dedicated volunteers know how much you care. Show you care - Make a difference! Please note that the costume resale has been cancelled "The Houston Kasruth Association (HKA) is a a non-profit organization whose mission is educational programming, working on new kosher venues and products for Houston, and maintaining current kosher establishments. The HKA only covers 80% of its operating costs through kosher certification fees. Therefore, the remaining 20% is raised through fundraising. HKA's only major annual fundraising effort is a phone-a-thon where volunteers from synagogues across the city call on behalf of the HKA. This Sunday, you will most likely receive a phone call from a fellow UOS member who is volunteering on behalf of the HKA and they hope that you will be able to support the investment in strengthening kosher in Houston.
