13 EMERGENCY APPEAL: SDEROT TO FUND AN EXTRA THERAPIST AT EMUNAH'S SDEROT CRISIS AND COUNSELLING CENTER Emunah is the only organisation on the ground providing mental health services to the thousands of people living in the Gaza border communities. The Emunah Family Crisis Counseling Center in Sderot, Israel, next to the Gaza border, is a small building that provides an oasis of assistance. Each week, over 300 patients from Sderot and the surrounding communities - young and old, individuals and couples - attend the center for counselling and help in overcoming a wide range of mental health issues caused by the stress of living 24/7 in a virtual war zone. The therapists see patients from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm, yet still there are waiting lists even for severe cases.
