2 A MESSAGE from Pastor Hagee Today, May 15, 2011, marks Israel s 63rd birthday. Today we, as Christians, are giving the Jewish State the best birthday present we can a display of Christian unity with Israel. We pray that by participating in the third annual Christians United for Israel Sunday you will learn more about Israel and our biblical mandate to bless her. We also hope that Christians United for Israel Sunday will encourage you to act on this mandate by working in support of Israel throughout the year. Israel continues to face threats to her very existence. Both Hezbollah in Israel s north and Hamas in Israel s south are stockpiling missiles that can hit Israel s major cities. History has shown that they will not hesitate to use them. Over the horizon, Iran s president has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, and is every day getting closer to acquiring the nuclear weapons with which to make good on this threat. Given these dangers, it is more important than ever that Israel s friends stand up and be counted. We in Christians United for Israel offer many opportunities for you and your fellow congregants to continue to learn about and support Israel during the course of the year. Jewish towns and villages throughout Russia were being ransacked by violent, anti-semitic mobs. Thousands of Jews had been killed in cold blood, and more attacks loomed. While most Americans ignored these bloody incidents, many religious Christians stepped forward and took action.
