1 Statement 44 Ayah 44 a. The hell has seven gates. Laha sabaaatu b. Then for every gate, a set part is abwabin likulli assigned for them. babin minhum juzon maqsoom c. Seven gates may either mean seven levels, one upon the other; or, seven degrees of hell in accordance with the gravity of sins; or, as common gates where every gate will be reserved for special kind of sinners. Statement 45 a. The ALLAH-fearing and obeying men and women, young and old shall definitely live amidst gardens, springs and water streams in paradise. Statement 46 Ayah 46 a. They shall be received with the Odkhulooha greeting: bisalamin amineen b. 'Enter here in peace, safe and free of all fear!' Statement 47 a. And WE shall have removed from their hearts any lurking unworthy thoughts or feelings of grudge and animosity, i.e. the grudge and animosity which is rooted in material ends, and is there by one's own choice looking for an opportunity to inflict pain or loss on the adversary, b. and they shall rest as brothers and sisters, facing each other in compassion, on couches. Ayah 45 Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waaauyoon Ayah 47 WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileen Statement 48 a. Hardship and fatigue does not touch them there, b. and they shall live there eternally - never be made to leave and deprived of the state of bliss bestowed upon them. Ayah 53 Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleem 53 Statement 54 a. He said: b. 'Do you give me this good news when I have been overtaken by old age? c. 3 Statement 55 a. They replied: b. 'That good news we have given you is bound to become truth. c. So do not be among those who lose hope and despair because of the old age!' Ayah 55 Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteen 55 Statement 56 a. He said: b. 'Who would despair and lose hope in the mercy of one's RABB - Lord Supreme except the ones who are misguided and go astray?' Statement 57 a. Abraham said: b. 'What is then your mission, you angel-envoys?' Ayah 56 Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloon Ayah 57 Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloon Statement 58 a. They replied: b. 'We are sent to the community of criminals and sinners, who are to be destroyed for their persistent transgressions against all moral laws. Ayah 58 Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeen 58 Statement 59 a. except for the family of Lot. b. We are certainly rescuing them all together. Ayah 59 Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaaaeen 59 Statement 60 a. except for his woman - wife. b. We have ordained that she should be of those who remain behind.' c. She was punished because she had conspired with the sinners. Like Noah's wife, she is an example of disbelieving wives who betrayed their husbands - 66:10. 4 Statement 61 a. And when the angel-envoys came to the family of Lot, Ayah 61 Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloon 61 Statement 62 a. he said: b. Truly you seem to be a group of strangers here.' Statement 63 a. They answered: b. 'But we have come to you with news of which they have always been contesting and arguing. Statement 64 a. And we are bringing you the certainty of its fulfillment, for we are speaking the truth indeed. Ayah 62 Qala innakum qawmun munkaroon Ayah 63 Qaloo bal ji/naka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroon Ayah 64 Waataynaka bialhaqqi wa-inna lasadiqoon Statement 65 a. So depart with your family after a part of the night has passed, i.e. in the dead of night, with yourself following them in the rear. b. And let no one of you should turn around and look back. c. but keep going to where you are being ordered.' Statement 66 a. And WE revealed to him - Lot - the fact that the last remnant of those wrongdoers shall be annihilated and wiped out by the daybreak. Ayah 65 Faasri bi-ahlika biqitaain mina allayli waittabiaa adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tu/maroon Ayah 66 Waqadayna ilayhi thalika al-amra anna dabira haola-i maqtooaaun musbiheen Statement 67 a. And people of the city came to Lot excited and rejoicing at the news of the arrival of young good looking males. Ayah 67 Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroon 67 Page 765
5 Statement 68 a. Lot said: b. 'For sure they are my guests: c. so please do not cause me embarrassment and put me to shame by scandalizing their visit. Statement 69 a. And be ALLAH-fearing, and b. please do not bring disgrace on me.' Statement 70 a. They taunted: b. 'Have we not forbidden you from being the guardian of all people and preach piety?' Ayah 68 Qala inna haola-i dayfee fala tafdahoon Ayah 69 Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzoon Ayah 70 Qaloo awa lam nanhaka AAani alaaalameen Statement 71 a. Lot said: b. 'Here are my daughters, if you must do what you intend to do.' Statement 72 a. The angel-envoys whispered to Lot: b. By your life they are blundering in madness of lust and misguidance. Ayah 71 Qala haola-i banatee in kuntum faaaileen Ayah 72 LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaaamahoon Statement 73 a. So at sunrise the dreadful blast of OUR punishment struck them, Ayah 73 Faakhathat-humu alssayhatu mushriqeen 73 Statement 74 a. So WE turned the highest elevation of the sinful city to the lowest bottom, i.e. turned the city upside down, and b. WE hailed down upon them a shower of stones of baked clay. Ayah 74 FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeel 74 Page 766
6 Statement 75 a. Surely in this there are evidences and signs for those who have the necessary hindsight to scrutinize evidences and signs. Ayah 75 Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeen 75 Statement 76 a. And surely, their ruined city still stands there on a road for all to see - geographical location of the ruined city falls on the main road which links Arabian Peninsula to the Palestine and Syria. b. The site is known as al-bahr al- Mayyit or the Dead Sea; it is about 30 km from Amman in the form of a wilderness approximately 423 meters below the sea level. Ayah 76 Wa-innaha labisabeelin muqeem 76 Statement 77 a. In all this there are signs, and lessons for true believers. Ayah 77 Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmu/mineen 77 Statement 78 Ayah 78 a. And people of al-ayka, also read as Wa-in kana ashabu al-aykati Layka, dwellers of the densely tangled trees or grove of palms of Madyan to lathalimeen whom Shu'ayb was assigned - were oppressive and transgressors. b. The people of al-ayka cited in other passages 15:78, 50:14 and 38:13 appear to be a different group than the people of Madyan. Statement 79 Ayah 79 a. and so WE punished them and took Faintaqamna vengeance upon them. minhum wainnahuma labi- b. Both of these ruined cities stand out as a manifest example on a clear imamin mubeen highway, plain to see Page 767
7 Statement 80 a. Likewise, the people of al-hijr to whom Saleh was assigned also denied ALLAH's Messengers. b. Situated on the coast of the Red Sea near Hijaz, ancient capital of Thamoud. Ayah 80 Walaqad kaththaba as-habu alhijri almursaleen 80 Statement 81 a. And WE gave them Divine Messages and OUR Signs, b. but they obstinately turned aside and ignored them. Ayah 81 Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muaarideen 81 Statement 82 Ayah 82 a. And they carved out from the Wakanoo mountains their houses as safe havens, yanhitoona mina leading a life of safety and security. aljibali buyootan amineen Statement 83 a. But one morning, by the daybreak, the dreadful blast of OUR punishment struck them. Ayah 83 Faakhathat-humu alssayhatu musbiheen Statement 84 a. So, whatever they had acquired of wealth and security of houses in mountains was of no benefit. Statement 85 a. And WE have not created the cosmos, the space and the earth and all that is in-between them except for the sake of universal truth. b. And the appointed Last Hour/Resurrection is sure to come. c. Therefore forgive and overlook human failings and faults in forbearance and show magnanimity. Ayah 84 Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboon Ayah 85 Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wa-inna alssaaaata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameel Page 768
8 Statement 86 Ayah 86 a. Truly your RABB - Lord Supreme is Inna rabbaka huwa the Creator; All-Knowing alkhallaqu alaaaleem Statement 87 a. And certainly WE have brought you seven oft-repeated Statements and this Qur'ān - the Glorious. b. Prophet Muhammad, ALLAH bless him always, designated Surah 01 of the Qur'ān as the 'seven oft-repeated Statements,' as it consists of seven Statements and are repeated in every unit of the Prayer. Ayah 87 Walaqad ataynaka sabaaan mina almathanee waalqur-ana alaaatheem Statement 88 Ayah 88 a. Do not turn your eyes longingly and La tamuddanna with envy - do not yearn towards the AAaynayka ila ma enjoyments, luxuries and the worldly mattaaana bihi benefits WE have granted to some of azwajan minhum them, i.e. disbelievers. wala tahzan b. and do not feel remorse for them as AAalayhim they refuse to listen to you, waikhfid janahaka c. but be kind and comforting and lilmu/mineen spread the wings of your kindness to believers Statement 89 a. And say: b. 'I am the one who gives clear warnings of the consequences of disobeying ALLAH's injunctions.' Ayah 89 Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeen 89 Statement 90 a. Just as WE had sent revelations to the partitioners - the Jews and the Christians - who later broke them into parts by tampering with their divine texts. Ayah 90 Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeen 90 Page 769
9 Statement 91 a. they wish to treat the Qur'ān in the same manner and split it into fragments, b. believing in some that suite them and denying the rest. Ayah 91 Allatheena jaaaaloo alqurana AAideen 91 Statement 92 a. So, by your RABB - Lord Supreme, b. WE shall certainly question them all about what they had done and call them to account; Statement 93 a. for whatever they have alleged against the Truth and done to promote the allegations in the worldly life. Ayah 92 Fawarabbika lanas-alannahum ajmaaaeen Ayah 93 AAamma kanoo yaaamaloon Statement 94 a. Meanwhile consoling Prophet Muhammad, ALLAH bless him always, with the fact that his disbelieving detractors would not be able to thwart his mission for too long, the instructions follow: b. Proclaim then whatever you are commanded to proclaim O Prophet Muhammad, c. and ignore those polytheists who associate partners in divinity and command with One ALLAH. Statement 95 a. Surely, WE shall suffice you and protect you against all men and women, young and old, who ridicule and mock this Message. b. And ensure that you stay safe. c. Therefore, from that time onwards, the Divine Mission was pursued openly and publicly in all its manifestations. Ayah 94 FaisdaAA bima tu/maru waaaarid AAani almushrikeen Ayah 95 Inna kafaynaka almustahzi-een Page 770
10 Statement 96 a. Whoever proclaim and assert that there are other entities, real or myth, for worshipful reverence and obedience besides One ALLAH. b. They shall soon come to know their falsehood and fate. Statement 97 a. The Prophet, ALLAH bless him always, is comforted in the following words against the relentless campaign of mockery and ridicule: b. And WE know that your chest tightens and heart distresses, i.e. you are vexed because of blasphemous things what they say. Ayah 96 Allatheena yajaaaloona maaaa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaaalamoon Ayah 97 Walaqad naaalamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloon Statement 98 a. So extol your RABB - Lord Supreme's infinite glory and praise HIM, day in and day out, and stay gratified to HIM, b. and be among those men and women, young and old who prostrate themselves before HIM in adoration and worshipful reverence, Ayah 98 Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideen 98 Statement 99 Ayah 99 a. And commit to worshipful reverence WaoAAbud and obedience of your RABB - Lord rabbaka hatta Supreme till the inevitable overtakes ya/tiyaka alyaqeen you, i.e. death comes to you. 99 Page 771
