Lord, our Lord, in all the earth, how great your name Yours the name of matchless worth, excellent in all the earth How great your name Who are we that we should share in your love and tender care Raised to an exalted height, crowned with honor in your sight With dominion crowned, we stand over the creatures of your hand All to us subjection yield, in the sea and air and field Praise the Lord! Sing Hallelujah Praise the Lord! Sing hallelujah! Come, our great Redeemer praise I will sing the glorious praises of my God through all my days Put no confidence in princes, nor on human help depend They shall die, to dust returning; all their thoughts and plans shall end Praise the Lord! Sing hallelujah! Come, our great Redeemer praise I will sing the glorious praises of my God through all my days Over all God reigns forever; through all ages he is King Unto him, your God, O Zion, joyful hallelujahs sing

4 10:30 am Contemporary Worship - October 11, 2015 Prelude Welcome - Peter Semeyn, Lead Pastor Desert Song This is my prayer in the desert, when all that's within me feels dry This is my prayer in my hunger and need, my God is the God who provides This is my prayer in the fire, in weakness or trial or pain There is a faith proved of more worth than gold So refine me Lord through the flame I will bring praise; I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice; I will declare God is my victory and he is here This is my prayer in the battle, when triumph is still on its way I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ, so firm on his promise I'll stand All of my life in every season you are still God I have a reason to sing; I have a reason to worship This is my prayer in the harvest, when favour and providence flow I know I'm filled to be emptied again, the seed I've received I will sow God You Reign You paint the night, you count the stars and you call them by name The skies proclaim, God you reign Your glory shines, you teach the sun when to bring a new day Creation sings, God you reign God you reign, God you reign; Forever and ever, God you reign You part the seas, you move the mountains with the words that you say My song remains, God you reign You hold my life, you know my heart and you call me by name I live to say, God you reign

7 TODAY AT ELMHURST CRC The Gospels remind us that whenever Jesus taught he drew crowds. Jesus interacted with crowds in such a way so that they could get to know him intimately, fully and forever. As an attractional church we need to ask ourselves these questions: Are there barriers here that might prevent people from coming to know Jesus? Are we truly accepting of everyone? Once people are here, what are the chances of them actually getting to know Jesus and how will that happen? Are we doing all we can to be hospitable? NEXT WEEK AT ELMHURST CRC The God who began a good work in us promises to be faithful to bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). We are God s image bearers seeking to become more and more like Jesus. We are not hopeless, but hope-filled because of this fact! We will be joined in worship by the Spirito Singer's Bravura choir (9th- 12th grade young women) at both of our worship services.you can read Philippians 1:3-11 to prepare for this worship service. OUR CHURCH FAMILY Congratulations to Jena Wagner & Matt Venhousen, who were married in Chicago on October 2. May God bless their marriage as they establish their home together. ANNOUNCEMENTS Children's Worship (ages 3-5th grade) meets each Sunday at the 9:00 am and 10:30 am services. Parents have the option of sending their children for the full hour or start with family worship in the sanctuary and send them down midway into the service. We believe that a small group is the best place to connect with others while experiencing sustained life change. In these groups, people study God s Word and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It s also where people pray together, care for one another and are missed if they don t show up. We want to create small groups that meet on a regular basis to Connect, Grow, Serve and Share. Sign up today in the lobby. Attention parents of college students: It is time to sign up your student for the goodies boxes! Sign up binder is at the information desk. Be sure to include their full mailing address. Students will receive one in December and one in April. Questions? Contact Bev Visser at or bjvisser@comcast.net. Join us for GROW October 13, 7-8:45 pm for Anita Lustrea, author, speaker, spiritual director, and former co-host of Moody's Midday Connection radio show, who will speak on "Unwrapping Lazarus: Taking Our Grave Clothes Off". GROW is a free event for all women. Bring a friend! Next Sunday (and the third Sunday of every month) you are welcome to bring donations of nonperishable food items, paper goods, and hygiene products in support of the food pantry at the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church. Please drop off items to the area by the information center. Thank you!
