An unknown person creates an address account which contains the pastor s name or the name of the church. 3 Father Chuck s Challenge Fr. Charles Kennedy will be speaking at all our Masses this weekend. He represents Fr. Chuck s Challenge, an initiative celebrating the memory of Fr.Charles Pfeffer, a deceased beloved priest of our Archdiocese. In response to this challenge more than 1200 homes were built for desperately poor beneficiaries, previously living fearfully and virtually homeless in Nicaragua and Haiti. The second collection today will go to support this most worthwhile endeavor. Vacation Mass Schedules: To find a schedule of Masses wherever you are on vacation go to this site connects you with parishes around the country, be sure to include God in your vacation plans! Summer Repairs Collection: Hopefully you have received our letter and donation envelope for this important collection. Donations can be placed in the collection basket or dropped off at the church office. Frozen Casseroles for St. John s Hospice: Could you find time to make a casserole for the homeless of St. John s? Pans, lids and recipes are available in the Church Office. Women s Prayer Group: We meet in the convent from 11AM to Noon on the 1 st & 3 rd Thursday of each month. Women of all ages are welcome. Call Sr. Regina Kropp at for information. Men s Prayer Group: Men of different ages meet every Wednesday morning in the rectory conference room from 7:30AM to 8:30AM. If you are interested please call Duane McCarthy at There is a prayer petition book in the rear of the church for your intentions, please write down your intentions so the group can pray for all listed petitions. Charismatic Prayer Group: They were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the marvels of God, alleluia (Acts 2:4). Shut-In Members: Anyone who would like to receive Holy Communion at home, please call the church office as we have a couple of Eucharistic Ministers who take communion on Sundays. Anyone who would like to see a priest for an anointing or confession, call the church office at Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels: For seniors 62 or older, no matter their physical health or any person who has difficulty shopping for food or preparing meals. Two meals cost $9.00/day or one meal at $4.50/day. This group of volunteers from all over the archdiocese answers questions and offer assistance to all who come to visit the Cathedral Basilica. They are assigned 4 hour shifts, with a very flexible schedule with assignments of one day or more per month. Training and materials are provided to support this evangelization ministry.
