4 Holy Week and Easter Maundy Thursday Service CONTEMPORARY Good Friday Service March 30 7:00 PM In the Sanctuary For six hours on a Friday over 2,000 years ago, Jesus suffered and died for the sins of the world, forever bridging the gap between ourselves and God. Come worship with us as we remember the death of our Lord and Savior through the songs, sights, and sounds of THE PASSION. The service will feature the Contemporary Ensemble of piano, guitar, bass, percussion and vocalists. Come and experience a whole new worship style. Easter Sunday APRIL MARCH 29 7:00 PM In the Sanctuary Third-Class Christianity The Chancel Choir will sing and, in addition to communion, there will be an anointing with oil for self or for others for physical, emotional or spiritual healing. 1 6:30 Sunrise Service on Manatee Beach 8:30 and 10:00 AM In the Sanctuary Sermon by Dr. Bob O Keef I Have Seen the Lord Everyone is invited to BRING A FLOWER to place on the Cross as a symbol of REBIRTH AND RESURRECTION! The service will feature an ensemble of TRUMPET, VIOLIN and FLUTE to accompany hymns and anthems. Alicia Doudna (violin) will provide prelude and offertory music. Alicia has performed and taught throughout the U.S. and abroad. Alicia is currently living and working in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she teaches and performs solo and chamber music. EASTER EGG HUNT We invite all the kids to participate in our Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday after the 10:00 service. 4

5 Mission of the Month ECHO is a Christian nonprofit whose mission is to follow Jesus by reducing hunger and improving the lives of smallscale farmers worldwide through partnerships that equip people with agricultural resources and skills. ECHO shares knowledge that is proven and practical through Regional Impact Centers in East Africa, West Africa, Asia and a U.S. location in North Fort Myers, Florida, which serves the Latin America and the Caribbean. For the 795 million people who are hungry, the world is a challenging place. The urban poor face high prices and low incomes, making nutritious food unattainable. Rural families are often malnourished because of a lack of diverse nutrients in their diets, if they have enough to eat at all. ECHO s vision is to honor God by empowering the under-nourished with sustainable hunger solutions. The three brief, but powerful letters address these ancient heresies. John demands that we know Jesus, that we walk in His light, and that we love in a radical way. John teaches that radical love should transform us and those whom we love. Dr. Bob will help us understand how to defend and live out our faith in the 21st Century. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Ever sung hymns in church and not understood them? Have you ever wondered if some hymns line up with Scripture? This class will explore different hymns each week, study their history, and ask whether they are theologically sound. March 27 (Negro Spirituals) Go Down Moses, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, All God s Chillun Got Wings A Journey from Mourning to Joy Need encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend? We walk with you on the long path through grief toward healing. Watch videos featuring grief recovery experts, small group discussion and receive a workbook for journaling. THE GROOVE: The Basics of Christianity FOR YOUTH Taught by Glenda Beck Location: Christian Ed Classroom Teens are invited to learn the essentials of their faith, own their story, and engage the world in serving Jesus.

PRAYER MINISTRY: Please pray that God would open the minds and hearts of those trying to survive on the streets to the transforming power of the Gospel, and raise up volunteers to pray and share the Good News with them throughout the year. Bailey & Gloria Williams are lifelong residents of Corinth, MS. They have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Bailey & Gloria are members of First Presbyterian Church in Corinth where Bailey is an Elder Emeritus. They spend about half a year in Anna Maria and half in Corinth. They will celebrate 60 years of marriage on March 31st! 6 Ron & Peggy Buck join us as Full Members of Roser. Originally from western NJ, they are now dividing time between Holmes Beach and Easton, PA. They are a blended family with 10 grandchildren and are retired from the financial services and telecommunications industries. They came to Roser through Ron s parents, Ed and Helen Brown, who were members many years ago. They enjoy golfing, biking and dancing. Hal Zug has been a minister for 60 years at the Disciples of Christ Church. He returns to Marion, OH for the summers. Hal has completed the facilitator training for the GriefShare program at Roser. It is a great privilege to be a member of Roser Church. Roser has two types of members: Full Members and Federated Members (an opportunity to be a member of Roser and maintain membership in another Church). If you are ready to commit yourself to helping Roser fulfill the work of Christ by becoming a member, please check the Wish to Join Roser box on the pew pad or contact one of the pastors personally who will meet with you and answer your questions. Most of us know our secretary, Cyndy whom we have all come to depend on for everything is battling cancer and healing from a broken arm. We have started a fund to help her get through this very tough time. Thank you so much for your tremendous response! If you would like to help make Cyndy s battle a little less stressful by helping financially, please make your check out to Roser Church and designate it for Cyndy (or put cash in an envelope with the same designation).
