During this Lenten season we praise God for his righteous Son, who perfectly kept all of God s commandments for us and paid the full price for our disobedience. Hebrews 4:16 Congratulations to Bill Schaver who will celebrate his 92 nd birthday on March 21 st and to Bernie Vogel who will celebrate his 88 th birthday on March 22 nd. Thank you, everyone for all your prayers and well wishes. They were greatly appreciated. Especially the wonderful cards from the Sunday School. They were awesome!! Thank you! Jeriann Medenblik Ken Balk was in Iowa City Thursday to receive chemotherapy. During his previous visit, the doctors were able to cauterize tissue around the tumor to provide relief from persistent bleeding. Please pray for good outcomes, healing, and renewed strength. Myrna Dykstra received outpatient treatment Monday to correct venous reflux that has led to fluid build-up in her legs. One leg was treated and results are being evaluated. The other leg will be treated in April. Please pray for a successful outcome and increased mobility.

3 Gayle Dykstra continues knee rehabilitation, receiving outpatient physical therapy twice weekly. The stress fracture in her foot is healing but still provides some pain. She visits the doctor Monday to see if the large boot on her foot can be removed or at least replaced with a smaller one. Thankfully, there have been no more seizures. She is slowly transitioning to a new anti-seizure medication. Please pray for strength, healing, and optimistic spirit. The objective is to move people closer to the service providers so that there is a greater connection. It will also help with the views given our shutins through the worship service DVD s. South side seating will remain the same to best accommodate those using the arm chairs in the rear. Please embrace this change and give it a chance. Thank you for your input submitted through the Thrive surveys. The results from all three congregations are now being tabulated. 4 YOUTH NEWS Youth Group will meet tonight at First CRC at 5:30 pm! Our lesson will of Judah Smith presented by Colby and JoLynn. The meal will be pizza. Please bring a snack/dessert to share. COMPASSION: please remember your offering. These kids are counting on us! Our local sponsor is the Clinton Humane Society for the next 2 weeks. Any pet item is welcome. FUNDRAISER: Our next fundraiser will be working at the tree farm :) Bill plans to plant trees on March 31! If you are going on SERVE please plan on helping! Fundraisers like this help make the cost of SERVE very reasonable for you! TRASH BAGS: Remember we have trash bags for sale for $12.00 per roll! INVITE YOUR FRIENDS: If you know of anyone 8th grade through college age please invite them to come to YG with you...we love to meet new friends! We are making plans for SERVE We will be going to Brookside in Grand Rapids in July 15-21st. In making arrangements for transportation, each minivan is now around $1000 to rent. We are asking if anyone has a minivan we could borrow for the week. It will be detailed before it is returned. We are leaving July 15th and returning on the 21st. Janitor Needed Beginning June 1 st, we will be in need of an inside janitor for the church. Anyone interested should contact a building committee member or a council member for more details and a job description. COMMUNITY NEWS Wild Winter Wednesdays are held at the Fulton Windmill Cultural Center, th Ave. Fulton from 9-11 a.m. This Wednesday, March 21, the program will be on, Goodenough Dairy by Harvey Zuidema.

5 Good Friday The Passion Experience a family friendly walk-through experience of the last days of Jesus! Join us on Friday, March 30 th at Evangelical Free Church, th Ave. N. Clinton, IA. Come anytime between 6-8 p.m. Walk for Life The Pregnancy Center in Clinton, Iowa offers free pregnancy tests, limited obstetric ultrasounds at no cost and serves the Greater Gateway area. We are totally supported by the generous hearts of our donors and through the fundraising efforts like the Walk for Life which will be held on April 21 st, 2018 at Clinton Band shell. We walk down the bike path for a mile and turn around, if you can t be there that day walk in place or in spirit! Walk registration starts at 8:15 and the Walk is at 9 a.m. Registration/Sponsor Pledge forms are on the shelf in the narthex for you to take. We also offer counseling, information on abstinence, alternatives to abortion, healthy pregnancy, parenting and post abortion syndrome. Available onsite is a Boutique and as our clients participate in our programs they earn boutique bucks to spend on items needed for their children, from car seats, pack and plays, high chairs, diapers, formula, baby needs items, toiletries and free laundry facility to use. We receive no federal or state funding. We are a Christian organization and we usually have attendees and raise 25,000-32,000 for our organization We would love to see you there and once again thank you for all you do and may God bless you tenfold for giving a voice to the voiceless!
