2 1 February Adventure Magazine is out today please pray that the articles focusing on Children and Families ministry will impact readers and that there will be a good response to the financial appeal. 6 February Give thanks Heather Zwies and Bronwyn Withington and pray for them as they take a well-earned break after a long and busy summer of administering the summer camps. 11 February In 2016 we are seeking to fill roles in Wellington in both the Children and Families and Youth ministry areas. Pray that we find the right people for these roles and that the funding will also be available for them. 2 February Students and teachers are returning to the new term. Secularisation is having implications for our ministry in schools. Please pray for a Christian voice in the debate around the place of religion in schools. 3 February Pray for the Southern team as they get together to evaluate last year s camping season and plan the camps for the current year. Pray for the momentum of successful new junior camps to continue to grow a strong foundation for the future. 4 February Give thanks for Sylvia Coulter who has just finished 12 years as Northern Regional Director. She is continuing in a two day a week role connecting with local volunteers and supporting prayer groups locally and nationally. Pray for her in this adjustment and also for SUNZ as we seek the right person for a part time Regional Coordinator role. The Auckland Regional Committee and Wayne Fraser are planning the next steps today. 5 February Please pray for our Board Chair Maureen Gunston and her family. Please uphold Amy, Maureen s daughter-in-law who is very unwell with cancer, and her husband Gavin, and children Bella who starts school today and Benji (now 1 year old). Monday 1 February 10 February Give thanks for Hope Fuimaono who has started work in the Wellington Office as Neville Bartley s assistant, working about ten hours a week. 7 February Wayne Goodchild has resigned his role as North Island Camps Facilitator to return to Tui Ridge camp. Pray for him and the family in that adjustment and that we will be able to find the right replacement in the crucial camps facilitator position. 8 February SUPAkidz and SURGE leaders are meeting together to plan the programme for term one around about now. Please pray for creativity and wisdom as they meet in an increasingly sensitive environment. 9 February Pray for Nigel Winder, Southern Regional Director, and Cheryl Harray (Kids Friendly Advisor with the Presbyterian Church) as they get together in February to plan out the Otago/Southland Children s Ministry Network meetings for PAGE 2 12 February Paul Dadd has recently started a part-time children s ministry role in St Margaret s Church in Hillsborough, Auckland. Please pray that this role will complement Paul s Children and Families work with SUNZ. Over the past six years Paul s role has not been fully covered through team support, so he has been paid one day a week as a SUPAkidz camp administrator. He will no longer be continuing with this part of his role. Please pray for Paul and his wife Mirjam as they settle into St Margaret s. 13 February Please pray for Wellington SUPAkidz worker Raewyn Rowney as she plans her year ahead and decides ministry priorities. - Saturday 13 February

3 14 February Pray for Nigel Winder as he speaks at Wyndham Presbyterian Church today. 15 February The SUPAkidz and SURGE Clubs start again for 2016 over the next few weeks. Please pray for the schools and their parent communities as clubs are advertised. Pray for enthusiasm and joy for the children as they decide if they want to come along. 16 February Advertising has gone out for our WAY2GO Children s Ministry Conferences (14 & 28 May and 11 June) and registrations are open. Please pray that people will feel excited about coming along and that there will be plenty of registrations. 17 February The Children and Families Team preparing for WAY2GO Childrens Ministry Conferences have a theme of intergenerational faith formation. Please pray for creativity and wisdom and a sense of what God wants to say through them. 18 February GIve thanks for Andrew Ramsbottom and pray for his preparation as the main speaker at WAY2GO this year. Sunday 14 February 19 February Titahi Bay (Wellington) prayer group meets today. We thank God for all our prayer group members and all our faithful prayer supporters. 20 February ENGAGE: Daily Bible Reading Give thanks that there have now been about a thousand downloads of the English and Te Reo versions of the Engage youth Bible reading app. Please pray for the upcoming Samoan version, and all who use the app. 21 February SU Pacific Community Gathering in Brisbane until 26th. Please pray for National Director Wayne Fraser and teams from five Pacific Island movements attending for training and inspirational content. 22 February Please pray for Andy Banks connecting and building networks to support youth ministry in Auckland. Give thanks that Andy is really enjoying his one-day-a-week St Michael s Ministry Assistant role. Please pray as he juggles this with his SUNZ Role and the last three papers of a Bachelor of Ministries degree at Laidlaw College. PAGE 3 23 February Please pray for the Waikato/ Bay of Plenty Regional Committee meeting in Hamilton today. 24 February Pray for Keith Vaughan as he leads a group looking for potential SUNZ Board members. 25 February Give thanks for the impact of You re Losing Us and pray that more churches will be thinking proactively about enhancing faith formation and booking workshops. You're growing kids and young people with faith 26 February Summer Camps Thanksgiving BBQ at 7pm tonight at Laidlaw College, 80 Central Park Drive, Henderson. If you are in Auckland plan to join us and hear of prayers answered on summer camps. Give thanks and praise for all God has done at our summer camps. 27 February Please pray for National Director Wayne Fraser - for good decision making and direction as he leads SUNZ and continues to develop ministry areas. - Saturday 27 February

4 28 February Please pray for Sylvia Coulter preaching at Glenfield Presbyterian Church today and for the children and leaders from SUPAkidz camp who are involved in the church service. 29 February Give thanks for the young leaders who attended Exodus Prime in January, and pray for them and their in-church mentors as they work together throughout the year. 1 March National youth staff team is meeting in Wellington till 3rd to evaluate and plan together. Please pray for the team and for National Youth Director Neville Bartley as he heads up the time together. 2 March Please pray for Neville Bartley and Otago/Southland Youth Consultant Aaron Douglas as they prepare to attend a gathering of youth leaders in Gore on 5 March. Sunday 28 February 3 March The Finance Audit and Remuneration Committee meets today please pray for members Alistair Boult, James Rees-Thomas, Wayne Fraser, Meredith MacKenzie and Paul Martell. 8 March Pray for Hilary Hague, for God s guidance and wisdom as she leads the Children and Families Team, and plans future directions for their work. 4 March Please pray for Steve Adams running the first of the weekend storytelling camps at Hamilton Narrows Park (till 6th). Pray that scripture will come alive in a new way to all who attend. 9 March Give thanks for South Island Camps Coordinator Ben Necklen and for the generous donors who have enabled his role to be fully funded. 5 March Please pray for the first SUNZ Board Meeting of the year today, and for chair Maureen Gunston and members Alastair Boult, Meredith McKenzie, Ruth Vercoe, Wayne Fraser and Kim Shaw. 10 March Please pray for SU in the Pacific, for Sam Emery Pacific Region Coordinator and for the board of SU Tonga as they seek a new leader. 6 March Please pray for Maurice Roberts and Resources for Life team preparing to send out Bible reading Guides for the next quarter. 11 March Steve Adams is running a second storytelling camp (till 13th) at Geraldine Glenburn Youth Camp. Pray that as he leads young people they will enter into the Bible story and be inspired and challenged in their faith. 7 March Give thanks for Annettte Osborne and pray for her work as part of the Auckland Children and Families Team, where she supports SUPAkidz clubs, develops after-school programme material, and is preparing round two of our Children s Ministry Survey, He waka eke noa. PAGE 4 12 March Give thanks for Marketing Coordinator Jamuel Enriquez and the enormous amount of work that he has put in for the new SUNZ website. Please pray that the website will encourage people to discover and interact with SUNZ and for the fine-tuning and ongoing development to make it a great gateway for SUNZ. - Saturday 12 March

5 13 March Please pray for the SUPAkidz clubs around the country, for the volunteer leaders and all the children who attend. Pray for good relationships with their schools and communities. 14 March Praise God for the team at Kaniere SUPAkidz club on the West Coast. Pray for Joyann Glass in particular as she leads the team. Pray for wisdom for them as they prepare to share the Easter story with the club. 15 March Pray for all those who attended summer camps, that they will continue to grow and be encouraged in faith. 16 March Please pray for the Matakana SUPAkidz club and their need for more leaders to join the team. Praise God for the good relationships they have with their school and the positive influence the club is having. 17 March Please pray for Relationships Manager Paul Martell as he looks for new donors for SUNZ. Give thanks for all those who support SUNZ financially. Sunday 13 March 18 March Please pray for Steve Adams travelling to Invercargill for a third storytelling camp this weekend at Edenview Camp (till 20th). 23 March Please pray for the planning of this year s staff retreat in Waikanae from 5-8 April. Pray for wisdom in how to make best use of this time together as a team. 19 March Give thanks for Otago/Southland Youth Consultant Aaron Douglas and the networks he is building in the south. Please pray with Aaron, Hannah and Kiri as they anticipate the arrival of another member of the family in April. 24 March Please pray for Central Easter Camp in Fielding till 28th. Pray for safe travel and activities and for all the young people attending to develop a growing relationship with God. Please uphold SUNZ staff Neville Bartley and Steve Adams at camp, and pray that the storytelling presentations will impact campers and that there will be good uptake of the Engage youth Bible reading app. 20 March Thank God for our administrative staff: Glenis in Auckland; Debbie in Waikato/Bay of Plenty; Alison, Janet and Hope in Wellington; Heather and Bronwyn in Invercargill. 21 March Give thanks for Richard Starling and the Stay Real ministry in Christchurch. Pray that the cafe ministry will be reaching those in the community and for the relationships developing in the carving studio. Please pray that the right staff and volunteers will be available for the different ministries. 22 March Please pray for the intermediate age SURGE clubs at Wairau Intermediate and Awhitu Primary School, and for the volunteer leaders. Pray for good relationships with their schools and communities. Pray for overcoming of the challenges of a new camp that is only males, away from town, and off the beaten track may face.
