3 LAUNDRY DAY #5 - June 3, :30 a.m. -2:00 p.m. Our goal for this event is to have 60 envelopes filled with $5 worth of quarters to give out to help our neighbors with their laundry costs. In addition to the quarters everyone is offered detergent pods and dryer sheets at the laundry and snacks, drinks, devotional materials and conversation at the church. If you have used devotional materials that you would like to share, please drop them off at the church office labeled for NTT. Come join us and get to know our neighbors. Contact Mary Gotwald or Nancy Fricke. BACKPACK PROGRAM is designed to help meet the nutritional needs of children at risk of hunger during non-school hours, specifically weekends and holidays. May collection: Grains - graham or animal crackers, light popcorn, whole grain cereal, granola bars, individual cereal boxes. These are all individual serving containers. GIVE AND TAKE BOX - The bright red box out front is a distribution for personal care items for our neighbors. Helpful items include shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and brushes, toilet paper, tissues, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, Band-Aids, etc. Thank you for being a part of sharing with our neighbors. JOIN THE SPIRITRUST LUTHERAN CHAMBERSBURG AUXILIARY - 1. No meetings to attend. 2. You are financially helping the auxiliary to supplement the budgets of these programs: Home Care and Hospice, LIFE Lutheran Services, and Lutheran Counseling Services 3. 4 ANNOUNCEMENTS PRESCHOOL PRAISE is moving outside for the summer! Join us at 10am every Wednesday at Mike Waters Memorial Park (we ll gather near the playground, or in the pavilion if the weather demands it) for all sorts of Jesus shenanigans. Anyone who s too small for kindergarten is welcome, along with the big people who love them (and, once school s out, if some elementary siblings want to join, they re more than welcome too!) Talk to Kathleen for more details. LADIES BREAKFAST-The Women s Fellowship Breakfast will be on May 16 at Johnnie s at 8:30 a.m. All ladies of the church are invited for food and fellowship. POW-MIA SERVICE OF REMEMBERANCE will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19 at Letterkenny Chapel; Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA. The speaker will be Colonel Alexander P. (Al) Shine, U.S. Army retired and the educator will be U.S. Army War College and Carlisle Public Schools. CASHS Naval J.R.O.T.C. Cadet Color Guard and The Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Honor Guard, Chambersburg will be there. PENTECOST is May 20. You are encouraged to wear red next Sunday in honor of the Holy Spirit. VBS VOLUNTEERS - Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to a brief meeting on May 20 after worship to talk theme, ideas, roles that need to be filled, etc. Even if you re not sure you can commit, come and see what s up! Cameron will be attending Bloomsburg University majoring in Biochemistry and Mathematics on a pre med track. Maura will attend Mt. Aloysius College in the fall, where she has been accepted into the Physical Therapy Assistant program and will be playing volleyball. Ben has been accepted into the New York Culinary Institute. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
