If you want to know how God is using our church to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth, we invite you to attend this Sunday. SEPT ENJOY A SHORT STACK FOR A TALL CAUSE -MOPS FUNDRAISER You are invited to Applebee s Flapjack Fundraiser breakfast to support GBC MOPS on Saturday, September 30, 8-10 a.m. at our neighborhood Applebee s located at 350 South IH 35 in Georgetown. Tickets are $10, buy them today in the Gathering Area or call/text Heather ( ) or Katie ( ). Abiding Life Ministries International presents DISCIPLINES...WHAT IF WE GOT IT WRONG? Conference. Tim and Karen Lester, Guest speakers. This is free to public. But registration is required for those who are needing childcare. Check out our website for more information about this conference. Tim Lester will also be preaching on Sunday, October 1 during both services. BEACH RETREAT Every year the Ladies of Grace and some of their friends head out to the beach for a weekend of restoration, refreshment, and enjoyment of God's creation and the fellowship of others. Oct. 2 - Monday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Discover the disciplines that bring the healing of Christ into my life today. Oct. 3 - Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Uncover how we get off track with Christ, what Christ does to keep us on track, and how participation with Christ in these crucial disciplines keeps yourself and others on track. Counseling Schedule: Tim and his wife Karen have made themselves available for one-hour counseling sessions as follows: Tim: Monday & Tuesday, 9:30-11:30 and 1:00-4:00 Karen: Monday & Tuesday, 10:30-11:30 and 1:00-3:00 Sign up for a counseling session at the table in the Gathering Area. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS Tim traveled with Mike Wells in the U.S.A., to Australia for training at Mt. Alford Lodge, and on several trips to do training in Central and South America. Tim, along with Raimundo, longtime interpreter and translator for Mike, taught seminars for leaders in Guatemala and Costa Rica. Tim also led a 5-day marriage seminar in Colombia, in which 41 leaders from Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru were trained to work with couples. The 24 sessions and related teaching aids are presently being downloaded by leaders and individuals in Spanish-speaking countries and are beneficial to English speakers as well. Karen taught in special education for years in the public schools and has now shifted into ministry after several years of study in Christ-centered psychology. She is due to complete work on her doctorate in the fall of Additionally, Karen has spent countless hours being trained by Tim to work with people one on one and currently spends about 20 hours a week working with women and couples with a focus toward discipling them to seek Christ-centered solutions for the daily struggles.
