3 PRAYER REQUESTS AT REVELATION TV A viewer wrote to us recently and asked if we could let you know about the various prayer requests that we have as a channel. This month we are praying for the following: 1) The financial needs of the channel. Provision for the ongoing work. It is God s work and the Government is upon His shoulders. 2) Wisdom to put the right programmes on Revelation Television and wisdom for day to day decisions. 3) Pray we will walk with humility in all that we do. CHOOSE CAREFULLY WHAT YOU WATCH Matthew 6:22: The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. Birgit recently presented a programme on being very careful about what we watch and listen to. During the preparation for this programme, I inadvertently made my porridge with sour milk. It tasted absolutely disgusting, and the Lord immediately spoke to me, very loudly, that some of the material I was watching on TV was equally disgusting to Him. I very rarely hear the Lord speak, and was shocked! I had NOT been watching anything which the world would find remotely offensive. However, as I looked more carefully at the films and other programmes I had been watching, they were full of blasphemy, immoral living, and swearing. Since then I have only watched Christian material, and Revelation TV is even more of a blessing now! On rare occasions, such as in the gym, I catch sight of music videos. I am immediately aware of just how offensive the Lord finds these, because I strongly feel exactly the same revulsion. We should be truly grateful for Revelation TV, and other sources of Christian material. What may be acceptable in the world, is definitely not acceptable to the Lord. Jesus commanded us to be separate from the world. I am not pretending this is easy, and would like to hear from others who have been challenged in a similar way! HUGH OSGOOD Late Show 1 st & 2 nd June Just a Minute 3 rd June We are delighted to announce that Dr Hugh Osgood will be joining us live in the studio this month for a host of special live programmes. Dr. Osgood is known as a Kingdom Strategist and also as London s Pastor to the Pastors. Today, he sits on the board of numerous forward thinking UK-wide and global inter-church initiatives, using his 45 years of ministerial experience to foster relations between different church streams and denominational groups. He is also currently the Co-Chair of the UK * Schedule subject to change Charismatic and Pentecostal Leaders Conference and chairs the Board of the National Day of Prayer and Worship. He holds a PhD in Religious Studies on inter-church race relations from SOAS, London University, and originally trained as a dental surgeon with an interest in maxillofacial reconstructive surgery. We look forward to having Dr. Hugh Osgood with us.

8 Why Work? I heard someone ask once how can Christians be good citizens of this world if they are primarily concerned about the next world? I believe that because a Christian can see the standards of love, that are the fabric of the next world, they can seek to live right now according to those standards. And in doing so they can bring the light and riches of God s love into the darkness and poverty of this world. Knowing the truth of who Christ is and what price he paid to reconcile us to Himself, compels us to act according to His will, the will of Jesus who loved us (2 Cor 5:14-15) - all of us. It is a bit like a man who realises that drinking dirty water is the cause of his illness, he is shown a spring of fresh water that brings life. He can now never drink the dirty water again knowing the harm it causes, he also seeks to bring awareness of the fresh water spring to the lives of others. A Christian knows that to live selfishly is a root of harm for himself and others. I see life as both a gift and a responsibility. My responsibility is to use what God has given me to help His people in need. Millard Fuller (The Fuller centre for housing) Faith and works should travel side by side, step answering to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then works; and then faith again, and then works again--until they can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the other. William Booth (Salvation Army) Trying to work for God without worshipping God results in joyless legalism. Work minus worship magnifies your will power not God s worth. If you try to do things for God without delighting in God you bring dishonor upon God. Serving God without savoring God is lifeless and unreal. John Piper (Desiring God) Jesus said in John 15:15 I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all that I heard from my father I have made known to you. God has shared his wonderful plan with us and we work as family members united in a common goal. It is not for wages that we work (God doesn t give wages (Romans 6:23)) it is because he gave his son freely in love (John 3:16), and now we love (1 John 4:19). If you have a Will, it is important from time to time to review it. A Will can be a valuable way of reducing inheritance tax liability on your estate, as legacies to registered charities, such as the Revelation Foundation, are tax free. Its an inspiring thought that by remembering the Revelation Foundation in your Will, you are, by the grace of God, going to make a difference to the lives of future generations. To include a gift to the Revelation Foundation simply tell your solicitor or Will writer what you want to do. It is as easy as that. This is the gift of all, or part of the value of your estate, after debt, liabilities and other legacies have been paid. He was aged 84 and lived in Jerusalem. He was one of the most distinguished Bible expositors of his generation, and one of its most adept leaders of intercessory prayer for Israel, the Middle East and the world. Here at Revelation TV, we were privileged to count him as a friend. Lance grew up in England and met the Lord at age 12 whilst attending Duke Street Baptist Church, Richmond, Surrey. Studies at London University in Classical Chinese, Mandarin, Oriental Philosophy and Far Eastern History, plus service in the British Royal Air Force in Egypt followed, where he learned many principles in intercessory prayer. He later founded Halford House Christian Fellowship in Richmond, Surrey. Having discovered his Jewish ancestry, Lance became an Israeli citizen in His father and many members of his family had died in the Holocaust. Lance was a man of great humility, faith and discernment, and a prophetic teacher of great insight and authority. We salute and thank him for his life and service to the Lord.
